[Bug 522299] Re: Nepomuk-based search returns no results
I have a similar problem in karmic with KDE 4.4 installed (from kubuntu- ppa backports). However, shared-desktop-ontologies was already installed by default. Search in dolphin AND krunner does not return any results at all (krunner only returns installed programs). arstechnica.com seems to have the same problem: I didn't have much luck getting the search feature to work in Dolphin during my tests, but I suspect that the problems I encountered were due to distro integration issues. (http://arstechnica.com/open-source/reviews/2010/02/hands-on- semantic-desktop-starts-to-show-in-kde-sc-44.ars) -- Nepomuk-based search returns no results https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/522299 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Rebuild the index and it seems to work now (maybe shared-desktop- ontologies was installed during a recent update?). Hi Steve, sorry, I wasn't aware of the licensing issue. The firmware comes from openSuSE 11.1. I did a quick search and found out that they are included in the following (rpm) packages: iwl3945-ucode iwl4965-ucode iwl5000-ucode zypper info returns this (shortened):: Name: iwl3945-ucode Version: 15.28.1.8-1.7 Name: iwl4965-ucode Version: 228.57.2.23-1.1.1 Name: iwl5000-ucode Version: 5.4.A.11-2.9 I had a quick look in the README and LICENSE files which come with the firmware, and it seems that redistribution is allowed as long as the binaries are unchanged and the license files are attached (which I can easily provide, or we can just get the rpm packages which include them as well). Here's an excerpt: Redistribution. Hey Jordi, thanks for suggesting a very obvious and simple solution - just using a different u-code ;-) I just copied iwlwifi-4965-1.ucode and iwlwifi-4965-2.ucode from my opensuse partition to the ubuntu partition and it seems to work just fine! [Bug 92925] Impossible to change mountpoint for non-linux partitions in kubuntu-desktop install
Public bug reported: The kubuntu-installer (from the live-desktop-cd, feisty herd5) mounts ntfs-partitions to /media/devicename (e.g. /media/hda1). It is not straightforward to change this mountpoint - the only possibility is to change the partition type temporarily to ext3 (or xfs or whatever) so that the mountpoint can be changed (e.g. /media/windows). After changing the partition type back to ntfs everything works fine. A simple and minor bug which should be easily fixable. Btw: Wouldn't it be nice if windows partitions would be bound to /media/windows (1, 2, 3, etc.) by default, so that new users wouldn't be puzzled by these cryptic device names? ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: - The kubuntu-installer (from the live-desktop-cd) mounts ntfs-partitions - to /media/devicename (e.g. /media/hda1). + The kubuntu-installer (from the live-desktop-cd, feisty herd5) mounts + ntfs-partitions to /media/devicename (e.g. /media/hda1). [Bug 62840] can't access kerry's search results
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kerry Since kerry got a new face, clicking on search results won't open the associated document. Right clicking and chosing 'open' or 'reveal in folder' or 'email' won't work either. Btw., there are no file-type icons shown, too. I'm using kubuntu edgy knot-3 (last dist-upgrade 5 min ago). ** Affects: kerry (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- can't access kerry's search results https://launchpad.net/bugs/62840 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
