Yes I have installed fglrx manually (the legacy version), only did this after Unity was not starting directly. This bug only happened after the upgrade from 12.04. I did a fresh install this weekend (daily build of quantal) and can use Unity/compiz without any trouble so far. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1061556 Title: compiz crashed with SIGABRT in assertion failure "!xcb_xlib_unknown_seq_number" from append_pending_request() [xcb_io.c:158] ... from XInitExtension() from XextAddDisplay() from ?? [Bug 1054136] Re: Quantal Beta 1 fresh install : No lightdm graphical login
I just upgraded to 12.10 with my Lenovo T400 and I had to start lightdm manually to boot to Unity. Since this Laptop uses an HD3xxx ATI Card, I don't know if this is fglrx related. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1054136 Title: Quantal Beta 1 fresh install : No lightdm graphical login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1054136/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm that a vnc client can access the desktop now, but I'm still unable to control it. [Bug 840696] Re: vino-server crashed with SIGSEGV in free()
Any news or progress on this one? Since Gnome said that it is Debian/Ubuntu miniupnp specific, no one over here seems to care?! Vino-server worked well on my AMD E350 system as I first upgraded to Oneiric about one month ago. But after some updates, it does not want to start anymore. Since it was running on Natty, but did not redraw the screen, it would be really nice to have it up and running in Oneiric.
