[Bug 1358695] [NEW] apt-cache policy for each package

2014-08-19 Thread Pierre Amadio
Public bug reported:

Currently, sosreport contain a list of installed package but it does not tell
where those package comes from.
In some situation it could be handy to know what are the actual ppa used (in
order to figure out if a box is using cloud-archive for a given release, or
even some unsupported third party repository)

Would it be possible to have sosreport gather the output of apt-cache
policy $package for each installed packages ?

[Bug 1089389] [NEW] juju bootstrap fail behind a proxy when a gpg key must be imported

2012-12-12 Thread Pierre Amadio
Public bug reported:

This is related to a Maas environment hosted behind a proxy.

I'm trying to use
juju 0.6.0.1+bzr603-0juju1~precise1

ubuntu@maas:~$ cat .juju/environments.yaml
environments:
  mymaas:
type: maas
maas-server: 'http://192.168.124.2:80/MAAS'
maas-oauth:
'UP5Qay8Nsku8K98fqn:LjhnStY2HjfCeKfvmg:BxA586DWVNPKrT9ASNj9QasMvSPdgavt'
admin-secret: 'nothing'
default-series: precise
juju-origin: ppa

When juju boostrap, things do not behave as expected on the zookeeper
node.

Excerpt from the cloud-init-output.log:

W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net precise Release: The following
signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available:
NO_PUBKEY 376A290EC8068B11

On the zookeeper node, if i try to apt-add-repository , the needed gpg
key is not injected, but the scrpit does not return any error code:

ubuntu@zookeeper:/var/log$ sudo mv
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/juju-pkgs-precise.list /tmp/
ubuntu@zookeeper:/var/log$ sudo ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

Trying to inject key while setting the http_proxy environment variable works
better:

apt-add-repository ppa:juju/pkgs --yes

[Bug 988748] Re: Downloading Juju settings causes 500 Internal Server Error

i have the same problem on a test install.
When changing /etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings.py so i have debug, this
is the kind of error i have:

I do not have swift installed, but my manager node runs nova-storage with
some s3 thingy.
Excerpt from my nova.conf:

Looks like horizon is not able to get the value of s3_url (
api.url_for(request, 's3')).

As a workaround, if i change
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/horizon/dashboards/settings/juju/forms.py so i
hard code the s3 url in the code, it works:

I do not know exactly how horizon is getting service catalog entry, but it
looks like there s one missing on mine.

This is what keystone service-list tells:

Things works ok after creating a s3 type service.
i create a s3 service and associate endpoints with it the following way:

keystone service-create --name=s3 \
   --type=s3 \
   --description=S3

 keystone endpoint-create --region RegionOne --service_id
85d3c0f8eb944cdfa9da5b66f6e192ca \
--publicurl http://192.168.122.4: --adminurl http://192.168.122.4:
--internalurl http://192.168.122.4:

i restarted apache, memcache and keystone, and i had my juju.yaml file
ready !

[Bug 1013199] Re: be2net driver used by HP BL460c bridge networking not working

2012-06-15 Thread Pierre Amadio
- #4 same behaviour with a v3.5kernel
- #5 the problem was discovered after installing openstack on precise (compute
nodes build bridge for the vm private network, and this network was not
usable). Bridging has not been try out on a previous release such as Lucid.
-#6 currently it does not seem possible to perform a test with another driver
as all the machine involved comes with the same hardware.

When using bridge networking under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on HP C-Clase Blades
(BL460c G7) which uses the be2net driver, networking doesn't work.
Networking without bridging (assigning an address directly to, say, eth0) does
work.

To recreate

1. Configure eth0 with an address
2. Test ping to other server on same network
3. Works

Now take down the interface and configure bridging.
1. /etc/network/interfaces

# Bridge between eth0 and eth1
auto br0
iface br0 inet static
address 192.168.1.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 192.168.1.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
pre-up ip link set eth0 down
pre-up brctl addbr br0
pre-up brctl addif br0 eth0
pre-up ip addr flush dev eth0
post-down ip link set eth0 down
post-down ip link set br0 down
post-down brctl delif br0 eth0
post-down brctl delbr br0
2. Bring br0 up
3. Ping other server on network
4. Doesn't work

[Bug 788319] Re: fujitsu s760 displays blank screen

2012-05-19 Thread Pierre Amadio
I think i hit the same problem after upgrading a HP laptop with a 8086:0046
graphic card.
Things used to work on 10.04. Now, the system boots on a black screen.
booting with nomodeset=1 as a kernel parameter lets me have a graphic login,
but the resolution is awfull.

[Bug 1000219] [NEW] cobbler does not recognise 12.04 server iso

2012-05-16 Thread Pierre Amadio
Public bug reported:

I installed cobbler on a kvm vm and wish to use it to deploy vm.

I try to deploy a ubuntu-12.04-server-amd64.iso system that i have
imported in cobbler:

mkdir /home/ubuntu/iso
sudo mount -t iso9660 -o loop /home/ubuntu/ubuntu-12.04-server-amd64.iso
/home/ubuntu/iso
sudo cobbler import --path=/home/ubuntu/iso/ --name=precise
sudo cobbler sync

I know the iso is ok because i used it to install the cobbler system
itself.

Now, when i deploy a system with cobbler, it stop when trying to access
a mirror.

/var/log/syslog of the failing system tells something like:

choose-mirror[3474] DEBUG command: wget -q
http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu//dists/precise/Release -O - | grep -E
'^(Suite|Codename):'
choose-mirror[3474] WARNING **: broken mirror: invalid Suite or Codename in
Release file for $suite

Now, from the hypervisor, a tcpdump show that the vm was able to access
http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu//dists/precise/Release

##
GET /ubuntu//dists/precise/Release HTTP/1.1
Host: gb.archive.ubuntu.com
User-Agent: Wget
Connection: close

...
###

I can also wget it by hand on a console on the machine being installed,
and the file i get actually contains lines such as:

Suite: precise
Codename: precise

Things works ok if I import an iso with cobbler-ubuntu-import precise-
amd64 though.

[Bug 933510] [NEW] ietd 'config' required argument not used by init script

2012-02-16 Thread Pierre Amadio
Public bug reported:

This is related to onerirc:
lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 11.10
Release:11.10

ubuntu@iscsi-target:~$ apt-cache policy iscsitarget
iscsitarget:
  Installed: 1.4.20.2-5ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.4.20.2-5ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1.4.20.2-5ubuntu1 0
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I try to make a simple iscsi target but fail to do so with the following
steps:

sudo apt-get install iscsitarget
Change /etc/default/iscsitarget so that ISCSITARGET_ENABLE=true
sudo apt-get install iscsitarget-dkms
sudo /etc/init.d/iscsitarget start
sudo touch /etc/ietd.conf

Add a the following in /etc/ietd.conf:

Target iqn.2012-02.org.sxb.iscsi-target:san1
  Lun 0
  Path=/dev/sdb
  Type=blockio
  Alias sanalias

sudo /etc/init.d/iscsitarget restart

I experience no error message, but /proc/net/iet/volume is still
empty.

I then look at /etc/init.d/iscsitarget to try to start the service
manually

sudo modprobe -q crc32c
sudo modprobe iscsi_trgt
sudo ietd -f -d 7

Still nothing in /proc/net/iet/volume

However, it works if i launched the daemon with the -c option:

sudo ietd -f -d 7 -c /etc/ietd.conf

According to man (8) ietd:
  -c filename, --config=filename
Specify configuration file, default is /etc/ietd.conf

However, i m afraid there is no actual default set in the code.
Excerpt from ietd.c :

{config, required_argument, 0, 'c'},

Looks to me the man page should be changed not to mention any default
config option and the init script should start the daemon with the -c
/etc/ietd.conf option.

** Affects: iscsitarget (Ubuntu)
