This bug is still present in Pidgin 2.10.6 (libpurple 2.10.6) on 12.10. Earlier i have reduced my gg contacts list and pidgin was stable. The bug hit me again now. I reduces the user list by some but it does not help. I synced the package list on another 12.04 machine, synced the ~/.purple directory, on the other machine pidgin is not crashing, staring as usual. I have a long user list >100 user. Some days ago i started pidgin with 'strace', it started without hang! I tried without 'strace', it hangs. Now starting with strace does not help. Hi. Dell Vostro 3700. Problem "solved" by downgrading pm-utils to 1.3.0 on 11.04. With pm- utils 1.4.x the laptop freezes or reboots randomly after few minutes. AC powered a little less, battery powered more often. I had exactly the same issue. 10.04LTS. One is a fresh install, second is an upgrade from 8.04LTS. Mount says //ks-eisfair/mew on /home/piotr/mew type cifs (rw,mand) File permissions are 100755.
