[Bug 1963861] Re: Can't tell what application will be launched with custom schemes

2022-03-12 Thread Evert Pot
While I don't have an immediate exploit, attackers tricking a user to
start applications does feel like in should be classified as a security
bug.

I've _never_ gotten asked what application to start for a given uri
scheme.

2022-03-06 Thread Evert Pot
Public bug reported:

When I'm opening an address like localhost:8080 (without the http), snap
firefox will assume that 'localhost' is the scheme and start an

To test, open Firefox and type 'localhost:8080' in the address bar and
hit enter.

[Bug 769702] [NEW] Unity: screensaver and panel issue

2011-04-23 Thread PoT
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

When enabling gnome screensaver (GLMatrix) sometimes the unlock of the
screen is impossible.

1) Enable screensaver asking for password to unlock
2) Lock the screen
3) Wait some time an then try to unlock the screen.

The only way to enter once again to the desktop is to switch to another
TTY (like CRTL + ALT + F1) login and send a kill -1 to the X server pid.

Another issue comes out when you enable al systray icons:

gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist ['all']

once enabled the bluetooth, battery, network manager and volume icons
doesn't response to the click, the only way to show their menu is to
click into another icon (messages, clock, chat status or turn off) and
the move with the mouse to the desired icon.

[Bug 695269] [NEW] brasero will not copy cd, most plugins greyed out bar top 4.

2010-12-28 Thread John Pot.......
Public bug reported:

Every time I cant to copy a cd as is, it is asking me to install applications
and libraries such as
toc2cue (application)
cdrdao (application)
Followed the instructions to install them, and installed the plugins on Lucid
Lynx 10.04 LTS succesfully but when I try to copy a cd ask me to install
cdrdao. Looked in plugins on Brasero, and most of tghe plugins except top 4 are
greyed out, but most are ticked except cdrdao, so how do I activate the
function if this is greyed out? So is there a config file to be found in
configuration editor, where I found everything was zero, so if this is not
supposed to be so, wht value should be put in its place. Is this as a result of
another program being installed
