[Bug 552644] Re: Lucid Lynx 64 bit nightly build hangs on boot
FGLRX doesn't have KMS so add into your grub.cfg cmdline "nomodeset". -- Lucid Lynx 64 bit nightly build hangs on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/552644 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 313027] Re: MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6
I mailed ATI tech support about the situation, this is the reply: Although we have drivers for Linux posted on the ATI website, we do not provide technical support for driver or multimedia issues in Linux directly. The Linux drivers available (For laptops, RADEON and All in wonder Products) from AMD are provided are "as is". -- MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 313027] Re: MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6
What about the M series? I just noticed in truth my card is an M64 (x1450/x2300). How will these be supported in the future? I've purged fglrx but now I've got MESA rendering? -- MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 313027] Re: MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6
So according to ATI, my x2300 (RV550) is no longer supported? This laptop is barely a year old (tho I bought the last one). I honestly consider it a bad move on their part but OK. I wonder if there will be a way around this (like the Mod Utility for the Windows Catalyst drivers which adds support for the cards that are sold by specific vendors, like mine)? RadeonHD doesn't seem to support the new GLX either, rather ridiculous in my opinion. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24848364/Xorg.0.log -- MASTER: fglrx does not support xserver 1.6 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Adding in xorg.0.log Seems like I'm using RadeonHD drivers at the moment and the GLX module really doesn't load. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/24847738/Xorg.0.log -- glx module error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/355920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 355920] [NEW] glx module error
Public bug reported: After updating from Intrepid to Jaunty, Xorg failed to boot completely, and also crashed my system completely using the fglrx drivers. Commenting out fglrx as my driver let me boot into X, I'm guessing it's using the VESA drivers. Trying to run glxinfo I get the following: prox...@proxess-laptop:~$ glxinfo name of display: :0.0 Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Segmentation fault (core dumped) GLX module is put to load on boot tho. I'll be attaching my xorg.conf (tho fglrx is commented out, the initial file was there. ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 MachineType: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
