[Bug 1289922] [NEW] suspend/resume fails on Ubuntu 13.10 with fglrx (AMD/ATI driver)

2014-03-08 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 13.10 fails to correctly suspend/resume my laptop (HP EliteBook 8470w)
when using the fglrx driver.
It worked fine on Ubuntu 12.10 (with fglrx).
After resuming my laptop from suspend, I'm getting a black screen and the
system is unusable (not responding to any keys).

azrael@leetbook:~$ cat /proc/acpi/wakeup

I've ran the following command to debug this problem:
sudo sh -c "sync && echo 1 > /sys/power/pm_trace && pm-suspend"
And this is what I've found after reboot (forced reboot after failed resume
from sleep):

[Bug 1286945] [NEW] release upgrader skips releases on non-LTS upgrades

2014-03-02 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
Public bug reported:

I'm running Ubuntu 12.10.
I want to upgrade my system to Ubuntu 13.04 and then to 13.10.
Both CLI "sudo do-release-upgrade" and the GUI system updater want to upgrade
my system straight to 13.10 (skipping 13.04).
This behaviour is against recommendations from the official Ubuntu
documentation (only LTS -> LTS+1 upgrade-skips are supported).
This default action of the Ubuntu release upgrader might result in a broken
system.
"sudo do-release-upgrade" should upgrade to the next released version instead
of the latest available one.

[Bug 1237577] [NEW] Search engine changed after update, unable to change it back manually

2013-10-09 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
Public bug reported:

Firefox seems to have changed the default search engine from Google to Interia
recently, and I can't change it back manually.
about:config doesn't list anything about Interia, and the search field (I'm not
using it by default, I prefer the combo search/address box) shows Google
selected as the default search engine.

[Bug 788322] Re: input output error when burning blu-ray discs (bd-r)

2013-06-15 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
A workaround for this bug is to use cdrtools from the following PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~brandonsnider/+archive/cdrtools
WIth cdrtools (cdrecord, mkisofs) I was finally able to burn BD-R and DVD+R DL
discs correctly.

2013-02-07 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
It looks like this bug is showing only when plymouth is used.
The latest Ubuntu kernel has booted fine with radeon driver, but with "gfxmode

works fine when I disable plymouth (delete "gfxmode $linux_gfx_mode" from grub

The amd64+mac iso images of Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04 alpha are both working for

But it looks like a workaround, not a real fix to the standard amd64 iso image.

[Bug 938195] Re: kernel 3.2.0-17-generic crashes constantly

2012-02-21 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
Clarification: I am running older kernel to report this bug. Kernel
3.2.0-16 works fine. Kernel -17 hangs after 1-3 minutes of using any
program after I log in.

[Bug 938210] [NEW] apport-gtk doesn't show the window for entering password

2012-02-21 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
Public bug reported:

Apport-gtk fails to collect data as normal user when root/sudo password is not
cached.
When I run apport-collect for the first time after I logged in,
apport hangs on collecting data and waits without end.
When I press ctrl-C, a gksudo dialog shows asking me for my password, but when
I enter it, nothing happens.
When I run apport again, the situation repeats.
When I run ps -fe |grep apport, it shows the following process:
azrael 13673 1 0 22:38 ?00:00:00 /usr/bin/gksu --message Proszę wprowadzić hasło, aby uzyskać dostęp do
raportów o problemach w systemie /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk

When I press ctrl-C and run apport using sudo in the command line, I can
finally collect the data for the bug, but sometimes it fails too.

[Bug 936315] [NEW] pulseaudio crashes / doesn't start

2012-02-19 Thread Przemysław Kulczycki
Public bug reported:

Pulseaudio seems to crash constantly. The icon in the notification area
always shows no sound. I am unable to adjust the sound with the sound
indicator nor with the Macbooks sound keys.
