[Bug 1367214] Re: Newly installed openssh-server and upstart: status: Unknown job: ssh

2014-09-23 Thread Psykotik
This issue also affects mysql package.

stop: unknown job: mysql
start: unknown job: mysql

In other words, both mysql and ssh cannot be restarted.

I have recently upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04, then this bug started
affecting mysql and ssh.

2008-08-12 Thread Psykotik
I experience the very same bug since hardy upgrade. I tried to uninstall
an re-install tracker, with no luck.

In my case, it doesn't seem to be related to the number of results, but
to the category "refining" selection instead; when I select one of the
result's category (email, documents, etc), it stays stuck a while and
then reports "Could not connect to search service as it may be busy".

[Bug 241927] [NEW] WD My book hard disk is not turned off when unmounting

2008-06-21 Thread Psykotik
Public bug reported:

I'm on Ubuntu 8.04

The unmount of the "Western Digital My book" (1 To, "Essential edition"
in my case) doesn't shut down it as expected.

Here are the specifications:

http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=353

When unmounting on Windows (XP), the hd shuts down itself. It is not
needed to unplug the device. However, on Ubuntu, the unmount doesn't
turn it off : it unmounts, but the light showing the device is on use
stays turned on.

That's quite an issue, as this external hard disk doesn't have any kind
of manul switch; I have to manually unplug it.

[Bug 223079] Re: Mono_path issue: crash when starting f-spot

2008-05-05 Thread Psykotik
Found a workaround.

I uninstalled libmono2.0-cil, which uninstalled also libndesk-dbus-
glib1.0-cil and libndesk-dbus1.0-cil. Note the latter gave this apt
message (from file /var/log/apt/term.log):

Suppression de libndesk-dbus1.0-cil ...

Removing libndesk-dbus1.0-cil from Mono

W: removing assembly: NDesk.DBus, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=f6716e4f9b2ed099 failed!

I installed again these files (including f-spot and tomboy, which have
also been uninstalled when uninstalling libmono2.0-cil), and everything
work flawlessly.

Seems to be related to the upgrade, and to the libndesk-dbus1.0-cil
library.

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2008-03-07 Thread Psykotik
I applied the updates for nautilus, nautilus-data and libnautilus-
exension1 from gutsy-proposed (release 7.1). Unfortunately, no change;
nautilus runs, and whenever I quit, it crashes and the process uses a
high amount of the processor.

Reproducing it is quite easy: open a terminal, run "sudo nautilus", and close.
The processor will be highly solicited. The only way to have back its
ressources, is to kill the process.
I think it only go through this behaviour once, afterwhat it works normally.
However, the close reports always a "segmentation fault (core dumped)" into the
terminal.

Find in attachment the crash report. Be warned I cannot open it, don't
know why the reports regarding nautilus can't be opened. I also attach a
crash resulted from opening a second user session.

[Bug 175960] Re: "clock appears to be wrong" dialog prevents gnome session from starting

2008-01-06 Thread Psykotik
I confirm also this error message, but can't confirm it affects any
process. I have this very error, but I do not experiment any issue.
Well, if so, it is not obvious.

As written by Peter, processes contained in .xsession-errors are already
down when checking them.

But unlike to him, it doesn't affect gnome.

I experience exactly the same problem. I am wondering if it could
possibly related to a dual desktop configuration?

Here is my xo

[Bug 73619] Re: Multimedia keys partially working

2007-01-09 Thread Psykotik
I finally found a workaround.

One has to install keytouch AND plug BOTH mouse and keyboard in PS/2
ports.

In consequence, this bug is related to the keyboard USB port management.

[Bug 77332] /dev/video0 and /dev/video1 not rememberded

2007-01-03 Thread Psykotik
Public bug reported:

I have two video devices. The first is a TV card supported by the bttv
driver and the second is a logitech webcam (pwc drivers).

The TV card usually comes up as /dev/video1 and the webcam as
/dev/video0. But some times these mount points are swapped. The
configuration files of video applications like tvtime or camorama must
be edited to work.

Running Ubuntu 6.10, but witnessed this behavior with Ubuntu 6.06 as
well. The TV card is miroVideo PCTV, and webcam a Logitech Quickcam
4000.

[Bug 73619] Multimedia keys partially working

2006-11-28 Thread Psykotik
Public bug reported:

I have a Logitech MX 3000 wireless keyboard/mouse bundle. I have set
keyboard model to "Logitech Cordless Desktop Pro" in Keyboard
preferences, and some multimedia keys are recognized in
"Preference->keyboard shortcuts". It can read the XF86Back,
XF86AudioMedia, XF86AudioMute, XF86AudioNext, XF86AudioPrev,
XF86AudioStop, XF86AudioMail, and XF86VendorHome keys. 8 keys for a
total of... more than 28 keys ! And nothing happens when I try to raise
the volume through the keyboard.

I'm running Edgy Eft which is up to date when I report this bug (28 Nov
2006). Xev program doesn't detect other keys than already reported ones.

This bug is pretty the same as
