Hi, The proposed solution for the suggested duplicate (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1853277) is not applicable for IIL Lenovo ThinkBook submodels. Re: [Bug 1817234] Re: Bug in "python3-ebooklib" that was fixed upstream years ago but package is outdated
With all due respect, this kind of response is ridiculous. Don't take this personally, I'm talking about the situation, not your reply. I'm using Ubuntu, not Debian, so I report a problem in Ubuntu, not in Debian, and whatever steps Ubuntu need to take to resolve the problem should be handled by Ubuntu itself. Asking an user to go somewhere else for help with a problem in Ubuntu gives a VERY VERY BAD IMPRESSION. If I where an average user who took the time to learn how and where to report a problem, just to be told "go somewhere else, figure out how they do things, register in their web so you can report and leave us alone", I'd just stop using Ubuntu all together. If I used Debian, Arch, Fedora, SuSe or any other distribution, I wouldn't be reporting a problem TO Ubuntu, but just so happens that I'm an user of Ubuntu, and here is my report. I refuse to go somewhere else. Back on topic about the python3-ebooklib package, Ubuntu can choose not to distribute an unmaintained package if that's the best option they have, but distributing an OLD, OUTDATED and BUGGY package is plain wrong. [Bug 1720582] [NEW] gvfs-backends not installed with GIMP
Public bug reported: I am running Kubuntu 17.04. I installed the GIMP. I tried to use the menu item "Open from location", but it did not work. [Bug 1386005] Re: Password not accepted graphical boot for encrypted root system
I have been hit by this bug after transforming Ubuntu 16.10 into Kubuntu 16.10 trough tasksel utility. I removed ubuntu-desktop and ubuntu-usb. Then installed kubuntu-desktop. Fuck you. More than 2 years after and still you haven't fixed it. I have spent already a day with this shit. Its not the first time LUKS is problematic at boot. Long time ago I reported a bug which needed to incorporate decryption modules in the initramfs. It was AESNI module. Now this, with a lot of reports and still is not fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386005 Title: Password not accepted graphical boot for encrypted root system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1386005/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1670394] Re: [Satellite Pro P200, Realtek ALC268, Black Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all
If you add options snd-hda-intel model=inv-dmic option to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, works. There seems to be a problem with this laptop. I never needed to add that option to get the headphone jack to work. But on bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1224099 a user reported that using that option in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS fixed the problem. But as I said, I didn't need it before. Whatever changes do to the kernel, they broke something in the driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1670394 Title: [Satellite Pro P200, Realtek ALC268, Black Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1670394/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1670394] [NEW] [Satellite Pro P200, Realtek ALC268, Black Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all
Public bug reported: No sound. Anything. PulseAudio Volume Control shows sound going through it (sound level bar moves), but jack does not output anything. Old bugs which had the same problem with the same laptop: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1360641 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1224099 These bugs occurred on old kernel versions from 12.04 LTS and 14.04 LTS. The laptop I'm working on is on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS which was updated from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS itself. I have tried running the LiveCDs of Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS and Ubuntu 16.10 and still the laptop has no sound in the headphones jack. [Bug 1576843] [NEW] README.Debian needs clarification
Public bug reported: Part of the README.Debian says: vim --- Make sure the vim-nox package is installed, and insert the following lines in your ~/.vimrc file: python from powerline.vim import setup as powerline_setup python powerline_setup() python del powerline_setup But since vim is now using python3 (at least in Xenial), those lines don't work, generating error E319. I've wasted an entire afternoon trying to figure out how to make it work, until in a wild guess I replaced "python" with "python3" and it worked. I couldn't find any place with references to python3 in vimrc, so it was a lucky guess, and it should be documented. ** Affects: powerline (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1576843 Title: README.Debian needs clarification To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/powerline/+bug/1576843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

While this works as a workaround, it isn't a solution, since any new installation would face the same problem. A proper solution is to fix the current package or update it to a newer calibre version (like backporting the package from 15.10), but apparently nobody cares about bugs in non-lts Ubuntu releases. This card (N1525) is also used in MSI GS60 laptops. But knowing that the killer E2200 didn't make it into the kernel until 2013, I think it can take a long time to get the N1525 working under Linux. After five days and a half running with valgrind without a problem, I stopped it, rebooted the system and started it normally. Then, on first access it failed again. [Bug 683906] Re: transmission-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in realloc()
I'ts been running with valgrind for a day and a half without crashing (still running). While this test runs, I'm testing another pc without, with same distribution, version, configuration and torrents, and it crashed 2 times. Both crashes happened while trying to connect to the web interface from a remote host. In the first one, the browser showed transmission web interface, without the torrents list, and a popup saying the server stopped responding. For the second one, I checked that transmission was running, then tried to connect and the browser couldn't get a response from the server, checked again and transmission had crashed. I've tried connecting and reconnecting a lot to the one running with valgrind without problems. The pc where I run it usually, and where valgrind is used, isn't very fast, and with valgrind it's over 80% cpu usage most of the time and becomes very slow sometimes, so I've been thinking it can be related to a timer somewhere (perhaps in the remote management) that being so slow doesn't trigger the crash. [Bug 683906] Re: transmission-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in realloc()
I'll try to get a valgrind log, but it may take some time (I have nothing to download right now). Since you ask for suggestions, I think transmission-daemon should log it's activities, like most services do. Whenever I have a problem with a service, my first step to fix it is to look at /var/log/servicename.log, but in this case there is nothing to see. Does it fail on completion? Is it on data verification? Or maybe it fails while I try to log on (web)? If there were a log, at least we could see what was the last thing that worked before the fail. Maybe even log some info about the fail. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/683906 Title: transmission-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in realloc() -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I don't think the board revision has something to do, but the kernel may. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/690370 Title: Strange out of memory on pandaboard -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 664514] Re: Unattended upgrade fails with segmentation fault in Ubuntu Server 10.10
I still have this problem on my Ubuntu 10.10 systems, with python-apt 0.7.96.1ub. Are there any plans to release a fix for this soon? It's really bad to have your systems rely on unattended upgrades, only to discover that critical security fixes aren't being installed, and having to apply them by hand. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664514 Title: Unattended upgrade fails with segmentation fault in Ubuntu Server 10.10 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
