2012-08-27 Thread Rafael Brandão
Just dist-upgraded from 11.10 - 12.04 - 12.10 and it's finally working as
it should!

Thanks a lot for all your effort to correct this bug. This problem first
appeared back in October and I was eagerly waiting for the fix to upgrade.

Cheers from Brazil!

 Status in Compiz:

Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu:

 Bug description:
this started appearing right after the release of unity-4.20.0-0ubuntu1
The symptoms are pretty much the same as seen in this bug though the
issue with the workspace switcher(expo) started a bit earlier at that
 point rotate/cube was still ok
  bug 861088
The above bug seems to have been fixed with
compiz-1:0.9.6+bzr20110929-0ubuntu4/5 but the issue remains when using
 rotate/cube instead of wall

The flashing is seen in all means of switching with rotate, ie.
crtl+alt=arrow keys, scroll on desktop, ect.

[Bug 874862] Re: screen flashes on rotate cube

2011-10-19 Thread Rafael Brandão
+1 here, Sony Vaio VPCSB series - ATI Radeon 6470M - Ubuntu 11.10 - open
source drivers. Same problem, screen flickering after rotation and can't
move windows to next desktop with keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + alt+ shift
+ left or right).

I wonder if Canonical test these things before realease a new version,
this bug isn't hard to reproduce at all...

I noticed another bug: when rotating the cube with mouse (normaly, ctrl

and ends up showing upper or bottom caps...

2008-03-30 Thread Rafael Brandão
I confirm this bug. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. Firefox shows me no
image (only a black square as the size of the scaled image) until i
click on it, then it shows me the image on its original size. P.S.: my
linux box is fully updated. Oh.. and this doesn't seem to happen all the
time, say, for different sorts of image size, extension, etc.

[Bug 192888] Re: firefox crashes on flash contents

2008-03-30 Thread Rafael Brandão
I can confirm this bug as well. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron,
it's fully patched and I'm getting crashes very often when I'm watching
youtube videos. On the terminal, if I run firefox and this crash
happens, an error message appears Segmentation fault. I'm not sure
whether this bug would apply on gutsy with pulseaudio installed. An
interesting thing is that I wasn't experiencing such bug until I removed
my /home directory and logged in back again.

[Bug 209218] [NEW] noise when clicking on quit/lock/reboot applet button or using scroll [most evidently on firefox]

2008-03-30 Thread Rafael Brandão
Public bug reported:

I can hear a very annoying noise when i click on the quit/lock/reboot applet
button, or when i scroll pages on firefox. This noise is more evident when
there is another sound application playing anything.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, it's fully updated, and this bug came from
Gutsy Gibbon (that's when i first noticed it, probably after some update). I'm
using an ATI video driver, it's the radeon one. My graphics card is ATI Radeon
9200. I haven't yet tried KDE in order to check if this bug applies to the QT
thing as well.
It was expected that I would hear no noise (a clicking noise, or a scratchy
one) while i go through popup menus and stuff, instead I can hear this noise.
When I'm logged in on my primary account and switch to the guest account this
noise seems to attenuate. I've tried all sorts of things, ie: enabling and
disabling compiz, messing around with gstreamer-properties and gnome's sound
settings, etc. If I raise my speaker's volume up I can hear that noise more
clearly.
Thanks

2007-10-22 Thread Rafael Brandão
Hi.
I've already figured out what's happening.. Like on my previous bug report, the
errors are being caused due to my GTK theme.. This time i was using Murrina gtk
engine. That's it I suppose. Everything seems to work fine with GTK. This
issue's been discussed on another bug report by the way.
Thanks

2007-10-21 Thread Rafael Brandão
Public bug reported:

Openoffice has started acting funny after today's update. I can't get it
to work anymore. It just crashes and closes itself after showing the
program's interface. OOCalc never opens and forces me to manually reboot
my pc and OOWriter even appears to be opening when it just closes down.
Here's what i'm getting from terminal:

And I'm running Ubuntu 7.10. I've also tried to disable compiz, no luck

hey! i'm here once again to report that i've managed to reproduce this
bug once again using the following theme: Frozen Plastic (http://www

I'm not sure though, whether this theme uses pixbuf/pixmap or not... in
any case, i'll have to stick to clearlooks for a while...

oh! sure thing!
i was using lyrae's GAIA 0.3 theme.. in case i may post a link in here, you
guys can get the theme from
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GAIA?content=63246

it uses 2 additional engines.. which are pixmap and mist. i've used this
theme on feisty fawn for quite a while with no problems at all, just for
the record.. the theme's very nice by the way...

thanks for the attention
