Hello, Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, Skype is not from the official Ubuntu repositories, and as such is not supported here. I'm setting bug status to invalid in Ubuntu. Skype issues are recurrent and since it's a proprietary software, no one here can fix issues. For me, I installed the static-oss variant (package skype-static-oss from medibuntu) to fix sound issues. It could be caused by any number of things, and you need to take some additional steps to provide a complete report. When did you upgrade to this version of Ubuntu? When did you first notice the freezes occurring? How frequently do the freezes occur? How many per day would you say you experience? List the applications you typically have open at the time of the freeze. Think back to the last few times it froze. What activities were you doing in each of those times? You have compiz enabled. Does the issue go away if you disable it? If your system is a laptop, do you suspend/resume it? Had you resumed at some point prior to the freezes? I have this issue in Rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20081008-0ubuntu4.2 (updated Intrepid) As in the attached screenshot, the progress bar doesn't move but the counter (here at 1:28) is correct and the player moves forward to next song at end of the current. I can't move it manually. Si it might be not *only* related to pulseaudio.
