[Bug 1959712] Re: [SRU] Add iSCSI support to HPE 3PAR driver for Primera 4.2 and higher

2022-02-21 Thread Raghavendra Tilay
Hi,
We haven't reached point where we can test this.
We are unable to install OpenStack Ussuri on Ubuntu 20.
Attaching the stack.sh script that we are using during devstack install.

Couple of queries:
1] Corey, were you able to install Ussuri devstack on Ubuntu 20 ?
2] If yes, can you share your stack.sh script ?
3] Will there be any testing from Canonical ?

Regards,
Raghavendra Tilay.

[Bug 1959712] Re: [SRU] Add iSCSI support to HPE 3PAR driver for Primera 4.2 and higher

2022-02-16 Thread Raghavendra Tilay
Hi,

We tried to install Ussuri devstack on Ubuntu 20.
Observed below error when "./stack.sh" was executed:

++./stack.sh:main:1410  err_trap
++./stack.sh:err_trap:544   local r=2
stack.sh failed: full log in /opt/stack/logs/stack.sh.log.2022-02-07-103212
Error on exit
neutron-dhcp-agent: no process found
neutron-l3-agent: no process found
neutron-metadata-agent: no process found
neutron-openvswitch-agent: no process found

Searched on Google and tried below things:
1] ./unstack.sh ; ./clean.sh and ./stack.sh
2] Install Ubuntu 20 & then ./stack.sh

Both didn't work.

Enclosed logs as attachment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Raghavendra Tilay.

There is no good reproducer case for this.
However, I will try running the same workload with the latest kernel and update
here.

[Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed drive

2014-02-12 Thread Raghavendra Rao
This is quite annoying! I'm using 13.10 and I just tried to safely
remove a Samsung 1TB external drive (USB3.0 device plugged into USB3.0
port) but it kept remounting. I tried it this way as well:

sudo udisks --unmount /dev/sde1
sudo udisks --detach /dev/sde1

and that also remounted except it took a few seconds longer.

Here is my USB hardware info:

Solution #46 given by Goalie Flight works perfectly. I've done it and no
freezes at all. Its been two days. Before that I was witnessing the
freeze every 15 mins. Thank you Goalie Flight.

[Bug 675185] Re: [Hardy SRU] dash bug causes mysqld_safe to spin at 100% CPU

2012-09-19 Thread Raghavendra D Prabhu
I tested the testcase in the commit on Precise and there seem to no issue there
(probably fixed there).

Also, it is not the right approach to change #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash since
former invokes POSIX compatibility mode and if dash has problems on any
platform, then that should be fixed rather than changing it in mysqld_safe or
#!/bin/sh needs to pointed elsewhere (or with update-alternatives).

Regarding the init scripts, I see that Percona Server is not packaged with
upstart script (hence vulnerable to this if on a platform with a buggy dash) as
mysql-server-55 does. I will open a separate issue to add that.

[Bug 802400] Re: mysql help sends unchecked contents to mysqld

2012-09-05 Thread Raghavendra D Prabhu
Regarding comment 1,

print glob_buffer
$6 = {Ptr = 0x98d660 "Your MySQL connection id is 11\nServer version:
5.5.27-rel28.0-debug-log Built by raghavendra at Tue Aug 21 00:41:10 IST
2012\n", str_length = 0, Alloced_length = 520, alloced = true, str_charset =
0x8cfb20 }

For some reason, str_length shows up as zero. However, I think it is
something to do with String class used sql_string.h. Anyways, even in
normal cases, it is like that, shouldn't be related to this.

[Bug 802400] Re: mysql help sends unchecked contents to mysqld

2012-09-05 Thread Raghavendra D Prabhu
First of all, this doesn't seem to be any sort of security vulnerability
(not related to any stack overflow or any stack smashing etc.).It is
something to do with parsing.

Also, not related to glob_buffer or it being empty as suggested above. (even in
normal case it is like that).

The problem is in com_server_help:

static int com_server_help(String *buffer __attribute__((unused)),
   char *line __attribute__((unused)), char *help_arg)
{
  MYSQL_ROW cur;
  const char *server_cmd= buffer->ptr();
  char cmd_buf[100 + 1];
  MYSQL_RES *result;
  int error;

  if (help_arg[0] != '\'')
  {
char *end_arg= strend(help_arg);
if(--end_arg)
{
while (my_isspace(charset_info,*end_arg))
  end_arg--;
*++end_arg= '\0';
}
(void) strxnmov(cmd_buf, sizeof(cmd_buf), "help '", help_arg, "'",
NullS);
server_cmd= cmd_buf;
  }

  if (!status.batch)
  {
old_buffer= *buffer;
old_buffer.copy();
  }
==

As you can see it explicitly checks for single quote and does some
string filtering to finally append " help ' " and " ' " to it if does
not have them already.

The problem lies here --
  const char *server_cmd= buffer->ptr()

If the string already starts with single quote, server_cmd ends up with
value of glob_buffer like this:

 print server_cmd
$10 = 0x98d660 "Your MySQL connection id is 11\nServer version:
5.5.27-rel28.0-debug-log Built by raghavendra at Tue Aug 21 00:41:10 IST 2012\n"

and rest follows.

Interesting to observe that the argument has been marked
__attribute__((unused)) but is still used.

This section
===
  if (!status.batch)
  {
old_buffer= *buffer;
old_buffer.copy();
  }
==

is also suspicious (because of unused attribute) but *not* directly
relevant to this bug. (For curious, old_buffer is used in com_edit when
\e is invoked, however, after the fix(below) I checked and \e along with
\h was working fine: something like

 > select \h help 'contents' \ewill copy select to $EDITOR's buffer

Anyways, here is the fix:

2009-09-07 Thread raghavendra prabhu
Chris,
Thanks. But could not the old hardy release be maintained.

Since hardy is the LTS a lot of people continue to use hardy for the LTS
support. Could we file a request?

But if this is a policy decision, then i understand.

Thanks & Regards,
Prabhu

This is the hardy update

The apt-get udate seems to work only for Jaunty version

There was a working Hardy version which no longer is there. And hardy
update does not show a new release candidate whereas a jaunty update
does show the 3.1 candidate

[Bug 155042] Re: Gutsy Installer, "Kolkata" is shown as "Calcutta"

2008-03-21 Thread Raghavendra Nayak
I asked this question in that mailing list and here is their answer..

Display names for time zones should come from localization resources
(such as CLDR) and only fall back to the time zone ID if there is no
display name available for it. In other words, for a UI it should not
matter whether the internal ID uses the old or the new spelling.

[Bug 155390] Gutsy, Volume applet shows mute icon momentarily while changing volume

2007-10-21 Thread Raghavendra Nayak
Public bug reported:

This is the bug in Gutsy, package is Volume applet.

While changing the volume using volume applet, volume applet momentarily
shows the mute icon even when the sound is not set 0. Only mute icon is
shown, sound is not actually muted.

Now even if you slightly change the volume, volume applet displays the
correct icon. This happened when I was changing the volume using mouse
scroll.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

When changing the focus keyboard shortcut (by default F3), the previous
shortcut key is still active. You need to logoff and login again to solve the
problem.

I tried the following in Ubuntu Edgy

1) native VIA - Failed - Xserver does not start
2) Openchrome - Failed - Xserver does not stat
3) Unichrome - Failed - Xserver does not start ( Had to rename this to via and
use it after uninstalling xserver-xorg-video-via). It seems that the driver
fully has not been rename to Unichrome

In the xserver-xorg-video-via - It is claimed that VT3118 is supported.
But Even then i get an error saying VT3118 is not supported

Do i need to update the kernel for the unichrome driver to work??? (to
2.6.20). If i upgrade to Feisty Wil this work?

[Bug 23090] Re: After hibernate, monitor shows strange-colored lines

2006-09-04 Thread Raghavendra Nayak
I get a similar kind of lines in monitor after wake up from hibernation.
But it lasts for only few seconds, after that contents are shown
correctly on screen.

I have intel 845GLLY motherboard with onboard graphics. No extra
graphics drivers are installed.

[Bug 55535] Hibernation fails after changing of the Swap Space

2006-08-07 Thread Raghavendra Nayak
Public bug reported:

Hi... I recently upgraded RAM of my comp. from 256MB to 768MB.Same time
I added one more swap space of 940 MB to the system and removed old swap
space of size 540 MB from the system.

Since then I'm unable to hibernate my system. When I click on hibernate
button my computer monitor turns off, but after a little while
everything returns to its original state..

When I press Control+Alt+F12 I see following Error Message there.

[4303591.664000] swsusp: Can not find swap device, try swapon -a

I tried command sudo swapon -a, But same thing continues.

If I manually run the script /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh i get following
error.
