[Bug 494919] [NEW] totem fails to render video properly after playing audio file.

2009-12-10 Thread RahulRage
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Description:Ubuntu 9.10
Release:9.10

totem:
  Installed: 2.28.2-0ubuntu3
  Candidate: 2.28.2-0ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 2.28.2-0ubuntu3 0
500 http://ubuntuarchive.hnsdc.com karmic-updates/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 2.28.1-0ubuntu4 0
500 http://ubuntuarchive.hnsdc.com karmic/main Packages

What happens: Totem fails to render video after playing any audio file.
However, when totem is resized or any menu item is selected or is full-
screen the video is rendered.

Restarting totem with a video will play the video flawlessly. But if any
audio is played before the video, the problem reappears.

[Bug 281402] Re: display problem

2009-01-07 Thread RahulRage
Well... after another fresh install of 8.04.1 LTS I am not upgrading xorg... I
am paranoid now...
Still here's my lspci -vvnn:-

But I do face issues now and then when playing games... the display
moves in circles or just blanks out completely... I have to do a warm
boot to resolve it... and do a fix XSERVER to get back my resolution...

[Bug 281402] Re: display problem

2008-12-16 Thread RahulRage
Aww-right my xrandr and ddcprobe outputs don't match!
This is Xrandr:
---
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 1024
VGA connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 267mm x
200mm
   800x60085.1 + 85.0 85.1 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2
   1024x768 60.0*60.0
   832x62474.6
   640x48085.0 85.0 75.0 72.8 75.0 60.0 59.9
   720x40085.0 70.1
   640x40085.1
   640x35085.1
-
and sudo ddcprobe crashes my computer if I run it a second time... so as of now
I am not doing it. But ddcprobe correctly detects 1152x864 resolution.

[Bug 281402] Re: display problem

2008-10-29 Thread RahulRage
My problem is solved after a fresh installation of Ubuntu 8.04 (with the
old Xorg-server)...

I did one thing differently... I booted the Live CD previously in Safe-
Graphics mode... but not the second time.

[Bug 281402] [NEW] display problem

2008-10-10 Thread RahulRage
Public bug reported:

My monitor supports resolutions upto 1152x864 but ubuntu 8.04 provides a

my monitor is a Samsung Samtron 56V model and graphics card is intel
i840 (for the 845GVSR)... strangely displayconfig-gtk lists that driver
yet doesn't detect it to be

Why is this? openSUSE 11.0 or Knoppix 5.8 had not problems with
