[Bug 1225752] Re: Screensaver activates when watching youtube / flash video

I will refile this bug under gnome - screensaver probably. This
behaviour is stupid anyway. Whether you like to blame flash or not.
Your distaste for flash is quite apparent here.

2013-09-15 Thread Rajeev Nair
Public bug reported:

Hi

Why does the screensaver activate when watching a flash video online in
the browser? Pardon my language, but how dumb can the system be to not
understand that some activity is going on ?

Works fine on windows, why do i need to disable screensaver on Ubuntu
to peacefully watch some online videos?

[Bug 923385] [NEW] Firefox wont scroll down with mouse gestures

2012-01-29 Thread Rajeev Nair
Public bug reported:

Hi

Iam not sure if i worded this correct., basically normal firefox
behaviour is to scroll down when you click and move the mouse towards
you. this does not happen in ubuntu, or stopped happening with this
release.

This makes it extremely difficult or impossible rather to copy a section
of text from a webpage or any document, it does scroll up however..

Using ubuntu 12.04 development release with all updates.

[Bug 754568] Re: [natty]Firefox stops responding with the fglrx driver

2011-04-29 Thread Rajeev Nair
None of you are using fglrx i am sure. Iam using it though and since
natty has been released , you can expect new user's impressions of unity
ruined because firefox freezes with fglrx.

Now what do most computer users do most of the time? Browse the
internet. And the number one app for browing ? Firefox.

Awesome.

Such an important bug yet no developer comments yet.Granted you have an
excuse about fglrx being proprietary but you can atleast comment on it.

I tested with this latest versions but still the same.

Also what is this font size you mention about? Is is something
adjustable by end user?

Ill try deleting the .compiz folders in home to see if that does
anything.

[Bug 753068] [NEW] Network icon inaccurate when displaying connection status

2011-04-06 Thread Rajeev Nair
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Hi
There are no notifications in the network icon on panel or on the black
rectangular window which usually notifies of something important.
I have my adsl router without the link light (it dies occasionally) but the
network icon still shows connected signal.

Windows 7 catches it in seconds every time.I can say this because i have
a very bad quality line which keeps going off .

[Bug 685682] Re: [fglrx] compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in nux::IOpenGLSurface::UnlockRect()

2011-03-30 Thread Rajeev Nair
I tested with the unity daily ppa and i did not have compiz on boot and
was dropped to classic desktop.Manually typing compiz --replace in
terminal made unity appear but i also had the gnome panel at the bottom.

ALT TAB also seemed very sluggish.

[Bug 577727] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 sound lag with enemy territory quake wars

2011-01-26 Thread Rajeev Nair
Well, the whole point of this bug report is about using these games with
pulseaudio running and being used.
Most suggestions here either talk of disabling pulseaudio or using pure alsa to
run it, each of which works fine .

I hope they fix this bug so we can enjoy the benefits of pulse.

2010-07-04 Thread Rajeev Nair
Hi guys,

Have all of you connected the small wire which is used to connect audio
out from tuner into aux / cd in on the motherboard?

Thats the easy way to get sound from tuner .

There is a way to get sound direct from tuner but i havent found out how
to .

I just ask the devs for 1 small request, get tvtime to work without the
cable, at least for the saa7134 chipsets its implemented in alsa module
saa7134_alsa .

[Bug 550040] Re: Don't work CPU fan cooling at TOSHIBA satellite U505-S2925BN in the Ubuntu 10.04 beta1

2010-04-07 Thread Rajeev Nair
Hi
You need to run tthe command sensors-detect first, and answer the yes/no
questions.

After that on reboot, run the command sensors and it should display a
lot of values which means your modules are loaded.

Then try pwmconfig and try.

Be careful with it though, you dont want any wrong values which might
stop fan running ,but if that is the case, the command sensors will tell
you the speed.

2010-04-06 Thread Rajeev Nair
m44miri,

you can try the command sudo pwmconfig to check fan and set speeds. I
did the same because my desktop cpu fan was running too fast, and i just
set min and max temps range for fan and it was fixed.

You can try it.

the workaround.

After 1 year of darkness, i can finally start renting dvd's again :))
