Just any time, just to collect information, immediately after the crash happens (logged in from another machine), after reboot (when back in X) or in some other way? Please note that when my screen is blank, there is no monitor input (ie, no console visible). Sometimes a CTRL-ALT-DEL allows me to reboot, sometimes I need to use the infamous REISUB method. -- Xorg assert failure: *** glibc detected *** /usr/bin/X: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x092447a8 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501551 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 501551] Re: Xorg assert failure: *** glibc detected *** /usr/bin/X: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x092447a8 ***
An extra comment: the many crashes that I mentioned in my initial report have gone away after I replaced my memory modules. This problem however has not ceased to exist and every once or twice a week I get no monitor input (at all) on startup of X (boot menu shows up fine) and need to reboot the computer. After rebooting my apport tells me that Xorg had crashed, which is this bug. -- Xorg assert failure: *** glibc detected *** /usr/bin/X: double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x092447a8 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/501551 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 350100] Re: thunderbird-bin crashed with SIGSEGV
Hi Micah, Having all the latest updates (Karmic, including proposed) I get random crashes of either X or applications like Firefox and Thunderbid. I strongly believe it's not a Thunderbird issue but related to my video card, X settings or maybe some memory corruption. Maybe it's good to close this bug since I'm running Karmic now. If/when I get a similar crash, I'll use apport for uploading the relevant information to a new bug report. It that OK with you? [Bug 378606] [NEW] Jaunty fast then slow out of sync video with stuttering sound
Public bug reported: Summary and description blatantly copied (and slightly modified) from the following discussion: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1146319 === The symptoms: this happens in mplayer and totem-xine and totem-gstreamer. 1) The video plays slowly with the sound out-of-sync with the picture 2) The video then plays REALLY fast to catch up with the sound 3) The sound stutters for a couple of seconds and then everything is in sync again for a few minutes 4) repeat from 1 This happens on most videos. === I have this problem too after upgrading from Intrepid to Jaunty and thought that it might have to do with other issues I have with my ATI RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200M]. It seems that the problem is caused by something else, possibly by pulseaudio (as suggested by someone in the mentioned discussion). ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Jaunty fast then slow out of sync video with stuttering sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/378606 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
