[Bug 1708258] [NEW] Download dialog shows three download statuses

2017-08-02 Thread Reverend_of_War
Public bug reported:

When downloading something, it will show three identical download status
for one item. It seems to be purely cosmetic, everything works fine.

Even the download drop down menu shows the same three download statuses
causing the dialog boxes to appear quite bloated.

[Bug 969583] Re: Internal SD card reader is not working on Dell XPS L501x

It's not just a Dell, it also affects my Lenovo R61 Thinkpad. The SDcard
slow doesn't even recognize a card being put into it, alone from reading
a card. Worked on all previous versions for me.

Well, sorry to break it to you. None of those fixes work at all. If
anything, I think I see some changes to GUI settings over changes to the
fact my headphone jack doesn't work.

[Bug 879569] [NEW] [8932CTO, Conexant CX20549 (Venice), Speaker, Internal] volume slider problem

2011-10-21 Thread Reverend_of_War
Public bug reported:

The Slider is absolutely disproportionate. Unamplified produces
absolutely NO sound. And the rest below it obviously silent. And there
is a small range that is usable and thus making it exponential sound
gain rather than linear.

Included is an image of where the sound is purely silent.

[Bug 878651] [NEW] unity dash home icons are cut off or too large

2011-10-19 Thread Reverend_of_War
Public bug reported:

It seems that the rendering of the icons in Unity Dash Home are too big
and are being sliced up. It looks terrible and there is no way for me to
make them smaller so I can see them correctly. Desktop environments like
this are about aesthetics. Thus, this is a bug.

I've included an attachment of what I mean.

[Bug 875370] [NEW] Bluetooth doesn't allow files to transfer and won't allow browsing of device

2011-10-15 Thread Reverend_of_War
Public bug reported:

I cannot transfer files to and from the bluetooth on my laptop. This
worked in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS which I completely reinstalled from. I did
not upgrade. The GUI also won't let me browse the menu of devices, the
menu list is too small to view the list. Essentially, the bluetooth
applet is useless. I cannot use any other bluetooth devices such as
keyboard or mice.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
Package: gnome-bluetooth 3.2.0-0ubuntu1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4

[Bug 874709] [NEW] Firefox memory leak

2011-10-14 Thread Reverend_of_War
Public bug reported:

The memory continues to use up more resources steadily over time. In
less than a half hour without even surfing the internet, the memory
usage has climbed over half a gig. At the time of submission, 553 MBs
were consumed and climbing.

The pattern is that the memory climbs up a lot, drops a little, climbs
up a lot, and drops a little again.

[Bug 424655] Re: using module-udev-detect leaks memory

2009-12-26 Thread Reverend_of_War
The issue with pulseaudio seems to become clear if you look at its
memory maps. It keeps pulling the same files into memory over and over
and over again.

...
/usr/lib/pulse-0.9.19/modules/module-udev-detect.so

I wonder if what udev is doing is auto-remounting the sound card forcing
pulseaudio to reload the same files into memory again and again.

I'm not expert, but I am pretty sure the clues are around there.

[Bug 424655] Re: using module-udev-detect leaks memory

2009-12-26 Thread Reverend_of_War
Ok, I know my last post was redundant and I reread the forum.

I found a little catch in the memory leak.

Opening up the system monitor and I killed pulseaudio.

Then I stopped it and closed all my programs. I returned to it after a
while and turned it back on and it is no longer climbing in memory. It's
sustaining the 3.5 mb where I left it after turning it off.

Strange strange.

[Bug 248277] [NEW] Gnome as a system

2008-07-13 Thread Reverend_of_War

Seems... Gnome doesn't remain stable.

It bogs down and slowly just becomes unresponsive.

I tried opening terminal but it opened a GUI and didn't get to the
lines.

THEN SUDDENLY after the third attempt

It crashes and the panels are gone. BUT the GUIs for the programs stay
up.

Ubuntu needs to work HARD on stability... It's turning into XP.

[Bug 247615] [NEW] Closing firefox3 causes the WHOLE Operating System to come to a halt.

2008-07-11 Thread Reverend_of_War
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Upon closing FF3, the whole operating system comes to a halt. The only
functioning App is the little system monitor app. Firefox3 seems to
cause instability to the whole OS.

I have to reboot this laptop more than I had to reboot XP.

I've reinstalled Ubuntu three times now. Even the 8.04.1 LTS version. I
just can't seem to fix it myself.

It's definitely a major bug. And I tried to find a similar bug to
subscribe to, but they all have symptoms to this one.

The general FF3 symptoms:

Closing it the first time. Leave FF3 running. Go into system monitor to end the
process.
Closing it the second time and ending the process stops it from reloading it
again. Often it causes everything to freeze.
If it doesn't freeze the whole OS at this point, an attempt at opening again
will.

I hate, I repeat, I hate rebooting my computers. I can't even keep firefox
running for a few hours.
I know the bug fixers are busy, but why is FF3 having so many issues?

[Bug 247615] Re: Closing firefox3 causes the WHOLE Operating System to come to a halt.

2008-07-11 Thread Reverend_of_War
The pages I have up are definitely running scripts.

From all the articles I read, I am seeing that the bug does seem to
affect a lot of other extensions similarly. I did mention that in the
original article, but mine seems to be a very acute case of what is
happening to the others.

I assume it is something central and not individual bugs. But a bug that
affects other extensions similarly.

I go to too many websites to name here.
My top:
School Website: my.usf.eduDefinitely full of scripts
Myspace
Facebook
Linux/Unix websites.

My only extensions in use are Adblock.

My roommate reported similar findings to Firefox 3 in openSUSE. So I am
assuming this isn't isolated to the distro.
