[Bug 1261393] [NEW] [MIR] Inclusion of android-headers in main
Public bug reported: Availability: Package exists in universe and is maintained. Rationale: The android specific headers were all removed in libhybris upstream, and they now need to be provided by a different source package. Dependencies : All build deps are in main It's not a 100% replacement for the old android-platform-headers package (which was provided by libhybris), as hybris had a few headers specific changes that are not required anymore (mainly include related changes). The package only contains the Android headers that are needed for the Ubuntu Touch stack (libhybris, libhardware, mir, etc). [Bug 1257048] Re: Screen doesn't blank with #43 on mako
Thanks for providing the logs, seems this is actually a bug in Unity8. From your syslog, this is where the problem happens: Dec 3 14:14:42 ubuntu-phablet powerd[851]: screen power setting failed: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name com.canonical.Unity.Screen was not provided by any .service files Dec 3 14:14:42 ubuntu-phablet powerd[851]: failed to set display power mode, not clearing state And from powerd: case DISPLAY_STATE_OFF: if (actual_screen_state == DISPLAY_STATE_OFF) { /* Nothing to do */ return; } powerd_debug(turning off display); if (using_ab) powerd_autobrightness_disable(); powerd_set_brightness(0); if (!display_set_power_mode(0, off)) { powerd_warn(failed to set display power mode, not clearing state); return; } This basically means that powerd tried to deactivate the display, but the needed Unity8 interface wasn't available at that time (name com.canonical.Unity.Screen). You also said that it works fine after interacting with the display, so I wonder if something changed in Unity8 that made the service to not be necessarily up right after the boot. The interesting thing here is that I'm unable to reproduce it locally, and tried many times already. ** Also affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: unity8 (Ubuntu) = unity-mir (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1257048 Title: Screen doesn't auto-blank with mako during first boot (since #43) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/powerd/+bug/1257048/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1248242] Re: App not running in the background
This is indeed not a bug, it's by design. We don't want applications running in background as that will kill your battery, that's why we force it to stop. If your app wants to keep something in background, we need a separated service for it, and request a lock with powerd to keep the system running even when suspended. In this case, to be able to play a music in background, the app should use the media service (which is still in early dev) instead. [Bug 1231917] Re: Mir servers crash with SIGSEGV in libhybris-common.so.1 on Nexus7 when using the hwcomposer (tegra3)
After a bit of more investigation, this actually seems to be a bug in the way Mir is using the hwcomposer interface (not using the 2 layers, and also with a different init/flags set). The crash happens because it tries to use a pthread_mutex that is not initialized. The issue with the attached video is that our sink is currently only supporting NV12 (in caps), and the raw format that the decoder provides for this video is I420. [Bug 1236874] Re: No thumbnailing even though image is playable on phone
This is a known issue, and it happens because the software rendering path is not working correctly atm. It plays the file fine because it works when doing hw rendering (via a native window, zero copy). [Bug 1231917] Re: Mir servers crash with SIGSEGV in libhybris-common.so.1 on Nexus7
I did a quick check, and noticed that it crashes in my_pthread_mutex_lock, a hybris hook for the original pthread_mutex_lock. The problem is that the mutex used (__mutex) contains an anddress that's not part of the mapped memory region for the process, causing a segfault when we try to access the content of such variable. To make things even more complicated, the call is originated by /system/lib/hw/gralloc.tegra3.so, and if you also refuse to handle the lock, it'll crash inside the library later on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231917 Title: Mir servers crash with SIGSEGV in libhybris-common.so.1 on Nexus7 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1231917/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ok, the other unity8 related crash was because we didn't had the permissions set right. Will be pushing a change to lxc-android-config to get that fixed.
