[Bug 949638] Re: It's confused about my current installation
$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description:Ubuntu 10.10 Release:10.10 Codename: maverick which is as I expect it: I have not TRIED to upgrade to natty: I was just trying to install the recommended app upgrades for 10.10 This upgrading of Ubuntu is a wing of CS that I have allowed myself to become complacent about: I don't keep all of our machines on the same version, but have up until now upgraded programs as Update Managers recommends, and as I get around to them. We don't all like the UI of Oneiric as much as Maverick, so for this one machine we've left it at Maverick. Other than shutting off upgrades, what is a good path to get back in the good graces of the config manager? Happy backwater Maverick preferred until it expires. Thanx if you know. [Bug 949638] Re: It's confused about my current installation
OK, I tar'd it up. I gave it another try... it persists in asking for the Ocelot CD... which is available. [Bug 949638] [NEW] It's confused about my current installation
Public bug reported: Somehow it thinks this is an AMD64, but this is an Intel Core processor. When updating the last few packages of 10.10, it insists that I insert a CD with 11.10 AMD64 Ubuntu on it. I made such a disk and inserted it, but not surprisingly, it was not satisfied with that. I get similar requests when I asked instead to upgrade to 11.04 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: update-manager 1:0.142.23.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-32.65-generic 2.6.35.14 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-32-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Wed Mar 7 18:17:03 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/update-manager InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala - Release amd64 (20091027) InterpreterPath: /usr/bin/python2.6 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: update-manager ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug maverick -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949638 Title: It's confused about my current installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/949638/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I had checked the sums. And the same disk seems to work when plugged into a different machine.
