I wiped dolibarr from my PC. And yet I get this message when I start the PC anew. First of all: I 've now version 3.2.1 of SimpleScan and my OS is of now: Ubuntu version 11.10. You ask: "..how does it know when to stop scanning? ..." What do you mean by that question?
