[Bug 1899667] Re: LO can't send email, probably an apparmour problem
The same happens on Ubuntu Gnome versions. It looks like apparmour problem. I did next steps to make it work: ln -s /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.oosplash /etc/apparmor.d/disable/ apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.oosplash ln -s /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.soffice.bin /etc/apparmor.d/disable/ apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.soffice.bin ln -s /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.senddoc /etc/apparmor.d/disable/ apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.libreoffice.program.senddoc And after that I had to replace sensible-lomua with thunderbird inside LO Tools -> Settings -> Internet -> E-mail client. I don't know why sensbile-lomua does not exist anymore and nothing else works. Even if I put xdg-email or just thunderbird. Without apparmor changes it does nothing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899667 Title: LO can't send email, probably an apparmour problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kmail/+bug/1899667/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1315344] Re: Grub install failed on disks with software RAID
After so long time this bug is still present. I gave up with Ubuntu server 14.04 and in 16.04 I encountered the same bug. You can't install Ubuntu server with RAID setup from installer. After spending hours and tried to find what was the difference I made with Gentoo setup that worked perfectly well and finaly managed to install Ubuntu Server on RAID1. The main thing was Ubuntu create RAID with 1.2 version metadata which should be fine, but it auto detects RAID setups wrong. So in installer I escaped to shell and manually built array with command: mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md0 --level=1 --raid-devices=2 --metadata=0.90 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 to force creation of 0.90 metadata which works properly. After that I escaped shell and countinued setup from point where I just had to select filesystem and mount point for RAID1 partition. Can you please fix this bug? [Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
Few weeks ago we moved from 10.04 to 12.04 at work. Mostly because of newer machines had problems with older kernels (no SATA, no sound). I have to admit that 10.04 was light years away from 12.04 when it comes to stability. There was mean time between crashes measured in weeks, when 12.04 can have 10 crashes in one hour. It's really disappointing. Right now I'm upgrading kernel to 3.2.0-41 and hoping it will fix freezes and crashes before coleagues at work crucifies me. Will report after few days if that helped. If not, I have no clue what will I do since I'm running out of options. So if anyone can help me pointing in right direction or what can I do to help developers find and kill this annoying bug, I'm here. Oh and those 60 machines at work are all from DELL, models Optiplex 380SFF, 390 SFF and 1030SFF. Just what's built in, with Intel graphics and all runing on Gnome Classic - no Unity. All machines are connected to network and has mounted Samba and NFS shares, each one of 100 users uses mostly Firefox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice, Audacity, VLC and some custom developed software. Joaquin: That's no excuse. At least they left essential features intact. Basically you're saying that Unity is being developed without developers who can fix the mess underneath? I didn't mean to criticise and if I was a developer I'd gladly help, but Ubuntu kind of forced us to use Unity which now seems to be only half finished. [Bug 794642] Re: [Dell optiplex 390][SFF] Dvd drive not recognized by system
Christian. In my case, Ubuntu 10.04 does not see nor HDD not DVD, but 11.04 see HDD but not DVD. Before I confirmed ordering, I remember these machines were marked as Linux/Ubuntu compatible, otherwise I would not place an order. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/794642 Title: [Dell optiplex 390][SFF] Dvd drive not recognized by system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/794642/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 794642] Re: [Dell optiplex 390][SFF] Dvd drive not recognized by system
I ordered 20 of those machines at work and received them today. We still use 10.04 LTS. Soon I've learned there is no way to install Ubuntu on these machines since hard drive is not visible!!! I've been traying different things but no luck. Is there any other possible workaround to make it work? Otherwise I have 20 large bricks which I can't use!!!

[Bug 761064] Re: [GA-790FXTA-UD5, Realtek ALC889, SPDIF Out, Internal] No sound at all
Somehow I managed to make it work. I have no idea how but I was trying different things for the last 4 hours. Last time I remember was making two changes: 1.) in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf added line options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-dig 2.) installed gnome-alsamixer and checked IEC958 Default PCM (it seems suddenly selecting IEC958 is not enough, but that's what mixer applets offers) There should be either same defaults as with previous releases or sound/mixer applets should have options that doesn't seem to exist in installed ones. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761064 Title: [GA-790FXTA-UD5, Realtek ALC889, SPDIF Out, Internal] No sound at all -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
