[Bug 747614] Re: Maximized windows do not scale correctly with Unity and TwinView
I'm not sure what other info I can add besides what's included in the attached log files. The left monitor is 1280 x 1024 and the right monitor is 1920 x 1080. I'll test it this evening because I'm not using Unity anymore, I'm using the classic Gnome with no effects session. Compiz crashes became so frequent that I can't use Unity anymore. [Bug 527428] Re: There is no way to rotate a display using nvidia proprietary drivers

This is not a bug in eog, that's why I didn't choose a package as the code is correct and works if the user is using the classic desktop. [Bug 714543] [NEW] Eye of Gnome doesn't update titlebar while changing images.
Public bug reported: I took some screen shots for a bug report and noticed that when using "Page Down" (or even the Next button in the app) to "scroll" through the images, the title bar doesn't get updated to report the file name of the image being viewed. I thought this was an easy bug to fix so I tried to download the source code of the application. After a while of being familiar with GTK, I found the function where the code should be changed. Even after using the "set_title" function on the window, the title bar doesn't get updated so I thought that this was a window manager bug and not a bug from eog. Since compiz has been very buggy I logged out from Unity and logged in with the classic desktop without 3D and the bug is not present. I don't know to which package the bug belongs to, maybe compiz? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/714543 Title: Eye of Gnome doesn't update titlebar while changing images. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 711877] Re: Unity top menu bar doesn't display correctly.
Yes, one is about Firefox, the other is about ALL other apps, since the menu bar of each app gets on top of a portion of the title bar of that app in the top bar like you can see in the screenshots. The example was just for Firefox and Take Screenshot but it works with any other app. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711877 Title: Unity top menu bar doesn't display correctly. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 711877] Re: Unity top menu bar doesn't display correctly.

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity If you have Firefox maximized and you move your mouse pointer to the top bar, the title disappears. (I don't know if this is the supposed behaviour). If you don't have Firefox maximized and you move the pointer to the top bar, the title "Firefox 4.0 Beta 10 Web Browser" changes to "Firefox 4" with a gradient starting just before the "4" and all the rest of the strings disappears. If you open Terminal and move your mouse to the Unity top menu bar it displays the word "Terminal" with a gradient starting in "al" and then Terminal's menu bar starts. [Bug 484209] Re: /etc/init/statd.conf: race with portmap startup
I have a workstation that the fix dosn't worked too. I'm not gettting errors on "start portmap" but on "status portmap | grep -q start/running" because status portmap is returning "start/spawned". Puting "sleep 1" afeter "start portmap || true" worked, probably because it gave portmap time to start up before "status portmap | grep -q start/running" test if portmap is runing. Probably a real solution is to put a loop to wait portmap start up, like: start portmap || true while status portmap | grep -v -q start/running do # if isn't running because a error ocurred, give up ... sleep 1 done exec sm-notify -- /etc/init/statd.conf: race with portmap startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/484209 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 667822] [NEW] kdeinit4 crashes on login with via cards
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome When using openchrome xorg driver with composite enabled on kwin, kdeinit4 crashes after login. To fix the problem it's necessary to disable composite feature on /usr/share/kubuntu-default- settings/kde4-profile/default/share/config/kwinrc, to disable composite extension directly in xorg.conf or to disable the 3d acceleration. This issue occurs only on via cards, specifically with the model described below: # lspci | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. P4M890 [S3 UniChrome Pro] (rev 02) The bug can be reproduced on any fresh new installation of Kubuntu 10.04 LTS with composite enabled on kwin. The driver version is: # dpkg -l xserver-xorg-video-openchrome ii xserver-xorg-video-openchrome 1:0.2.904+svn827-1 X.Org X server -- VIA display driver It seems to be a bug on the driver itself. However, just the X client crashes and nothing is shown on the xsever log. .xsession-errors will be attached. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kdeinit4 crashes on login with via cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/667822 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager gnome-power-manager version: 2.30.0-0ubuntu1 Ubuntu 10.04.01 LTS Acer Aspire 5745-3428 recently bought SMBIOS 2.6 revision: 8.240 - according to dmidecode g-p-m does not notice the power cable presence/disconnection, it shows the battery icon as fully charged all the time; under its properties is shown the battery as 100% charged all the time and the battery icon does not indicates the battery discharging. g-p-m is using preferences as the laptop is pluged on charger. Running acpi returns message of "rate information unavailable"; running acpi -a shows "Adapter 0= on" all the time, even if the power cable is off; running acpi -bi shows "Battery 0=unknown...; So, the power manager and acpi are not detecting the battery discharging and both of them indicate the power line cable as on all the time. YACPI command returns that AC ADAPTER is on, even if it isnt. All the system power monitors indicates that the power cable is on all the time, so there is no difference when the notebook is using batteries or charger. The only indicator that is OK is the laptop charging light. Tried booting with ec_burst=1 and acpi=force parameters but there was no change.
