[Bug 776875] Re: Unity update broke screen rotation
@Victor That bug was mentioned in comment #2. I agree with Sebastien that the bug might be a result of the patch for that bug. More specifically, it might be due to the patch for bug #795454 that bug #753971 refers to. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776875 Title: Unity update broke screen rotation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/776875/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 782119] Re: unity snap not accurate
I haven't tested every application, but this occurs for me with Terminal, Banshee, Appearance Preferences, and the Ubuntu Software Centre. Although the offset is different for Terminal in comparison to the rest. I've attached what the Ubuntu Software Centre looks like snapped to the right. On left snap, it's offset to the left by the same amount such that a part of the window is obscured. ** Attachment added: "Right.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/782119/+attachment/2135988/+files/Right.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/782119 Title: unity snap not accurate -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 783147] Re: Unity Update Broke Dual Monitor
Hi, this may be a duplicate of bug #776875. It refers to screen rotations, but I think the bug manifests itself on any screen resolution changes where at least one dimension becomes larger than it started with. [Bug 784932] Re: I can't open facebook or youtube on ubuntu
Are you on 64bit Ubuntu? I haven't tried this in a while so I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I ran into issues going to sites with flash with the default installation on 64bit. Browsers crashed when seeing flash in 64bit Ubuntu despite that flash was not installed at all. Installing the 32bit flash with 32bit wrappers fixed the problem in that case. If nothing else, see if flash is a common denominator. Youtube obviously uses flash for their videos and Facebook sometimes has flash-based ads. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/784932 Title: I can't open facebook or youtube on ubuntu -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 776875] Re: Unity update broke screen rotation
Downgrading to 3.8.10 reintroduced a bug where Xournal's xinput based pen input is offset by some weird amount, so I've reverted back to 3.8.12. As a different workaround for this bug I rotate the screen, logout, then log back in for left or right rotations. This results in a black bar on the right side on normal and upside-down rotations, which I once again fix by logging out and logging back in. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776875 Title: Unity update broke screen rotation -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 776875] Re: Unity update broke screen rotation
I've had this problem occur after an update like everyone else. In the black bar area, unity things like the side bar and the top menu bar can draw in the area but nothing else can. [Bug 649809] Re: the session settings manager can try starting before the login screen one exits
I ran into this issue while running Natty on VMware. More specifically: I log in to Ubuntu Classic mode. The theme is Ambiance as expected, but all of the icons are the unity theme icons instead of Ubuntu-Mono. Nautilus also has the Ubuntu One icon embedded. About 20 seconds later, the theme reverts to the ugly theme. Restarting gnome-settings-daemon and nautilus fixes the to the proper Classic mode theme. I've tried the workaround in #68 and it still resulted in: "** (gnome-settings-daemon:1941): WARNING **: You can only run one xsettings manager at a time; exiting" regardless of the time i set, until i set it too far and gnome-settings-daemon.desktop timed out instead. I had set the virtual machine as a single CPU single core machine. Once I changed the machine to dual core, I logged into Ubuntu Classic with the expected theme and icons without the theme reverting. I hope that helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/649809 Title: the session settings manager can try starting before the login screen one exits -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 779697] [NEW] Top 3rd of the screen stops drawing after screen rotation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg When rotating the screen using "xrandr -o left | right", roughly the top 3rd of the screen stays black and applications cannot draw to that part of the screen. Exceptions are the Unity dock, search menu, and notification bar, which can draw without issue. Since nothing else draws to that part of the screen, anything those three draws just stays there. For example, when I open the dock and then close it, the dock image stays on the top 3rd of the screen. The issue disappears when the screen is rotated to normal or inverted using "xrandr -r normal | inverted". This is my first bug report, so please bear with me.
