[Bug 1080656] Re: bluetooth-wizard crashes when the name of a discovered device is NULL

2013-01-17 Thread Rolo
I've experienced this issue today and possibly come up with a
workaround.

Ubuntu 12.10 x64. USB bluetooth dongle. Let me know if you need any
further hardware info.

Initially, when scanning for devices, some sort of ID of the device was
displayed (a hex UID type string). Any time I clicked on this the
applet crashed and I saw the crash report for "bluetooth-wizard".

I did this a few times, but then I tried again and waited patiently
whilst it continued to search for devices. Eventually the hardware ID
listed changed into the name of my BT headset. Now when I click to
select, and click Continue, I get no error at this point (it doesn't
connect to the device in the end, but I'd wager that's a different
issue).

Hope that's useful to someone.

[Bug 973096] Re: Nvidia driver causes xorg crash

2012-08-15 Thread Rolo
I've been using the workaround of running in 2d mode since I first
encountered the random log off bug when 12.04 first came out (I subbed
to this bug 2012-06-08 13:23:32). Since then, even with heavy daily use
(8 hours+) I haven't had a single random logout... until today, just
now. I presume something to do with some of today's updates.

As I said, this has been working fine for me, so I hadn't tried any of
the driver fixes, but I thought it worth mentioning this. I'll try the
driver upgrade now.

[Bug 980519] Re: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LT Beta

2012-05-02 Thread Rolo
Just had this today. Clean install of 12.04 AMD64. Am using nvidia
additional driver marked as "post-release updates". Going to switch to
"version-current" and see if it helps.

My hardware:

Intel Core i7 930
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7
Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz)
BFG GeForce 9800 GTX OCX 512MB GDDR3
OCZ Vertex 2 SSD

Please shout if any more info would be helpful. Thanks.

[Bug 500417] Re: nautilus doesn't honor gnome theme

2011-05-05 Thread Rolo
Does you X41 have Optimus switchable graphics? Most likely the machine
will use the integrated graphics rather than discrete when on battery
power. You can test that this is what's causing it by switching to
constantly use discrete or integreated in the BIOS (watch out for the
BIOS option which automatically sets it back to optimus as well)

Not sure if that's of use.

[Bug 658379] Re: Maverick AMD64 Theme settings not recalled

2010-10-13 Thread Rolo
I'm seeing this too.

Nvidia BFG GTX9800This is also happening to me with the latest NVidia
driver on a clean AMD64 install of Maverick.

My graphics card is a BFG GeForce 9800 GTX OCX 512MB GDDR3. Motherboard
is a Gigabye GA-X58A-UD7.

The .gtkrc-2.0 workaround is working for me too.

Re: [Bug 353126] Re: Compiz / vnc screen refresh with nvidia-restricted driver/VirtualBox/ATI fglrx driver

2009-06-22 Thread Rolo
Use FreeNX (http://freenx.berlios.de/). IMO it's much better than VNC
anyway, it automatically sets your screen res, and works with compiz, of
course.

Rolo.
