2010-12-01 Thread Roman Bolshakov
I have looked at the last official driver changelog(v2.4.0.0) and noticed a
hopeful line inside it:
3. Fix issue: STA cannot connect to OPEN-WEP AP if WpaSupplicant set

Have anyone tried it?

Re: [Bug 327362] Re: Some ISPs have .local domain which disables avahi-daemon

2010-08-29 Thread Roman Bolshakov
Marcus, I think OS X way of handling the situation is better. There are
some reasons for that. I called some months ago to North-West
Telecom(one of the biggest internet providers in Saint Petersburg).
Customer support engineer said that they could remove the DNS zone only
for artificial persons. So the company protects own profit preventing
use of Active Directory for contracts with natural persons, because
price for artificial persons is higher usually. I said him(or her, I
didn't remember who it was) that the zone hindered for Ubuntu and Mac OS
users, but him(her) had nothing to say me. And the second advantage for
OS X way is current situation with torrent trackers. There are lots of
providers that introduced retracker.local domain with incorrect DNS
server settings. They set up whole .local zone instead of only
retracker.local. So the providers disturb peoples who even doesn't use
torrents.

[Bug 605519] Re: Regression (2.6.32-24): sound card not recognized

2010-08-11 Thread Roman Bolshakov
Thanks, Seth. I have added myself to audio group, so sound works on
2.6.32-24. The problem could be related probably to update script or
update process.

[Bug 565648] Re: Rhythmbox fails to start, cites music store errors

2010-05-23 Thread Roman Bolshakov
It looks like my problem also concerned with last.fm plugin. Here is my story:
Rhythmbox just added own icon to indicator applet and then it crashed. I
uninstalled rhythmbox music store plugin and tried to run it again. There was
some advance because it crashed approximately after 5-10 seconds. Of course it
was still unusable.

Some minutes ago I looked over output of rhythmbox -d and noticed that
it crashed just after this line: [0x8728028]
[rb_audioscrobbler_do_handshake] rb-audioscrobbler.c:785: Performing
handshake with Audioscrobbler server:*here is long url*. For the few
seconds while rhythmbox works I managed to disable last.fm plugin,
restarted player and it works! So rhythmbox is running normally without
the two plugins at the moment. If I install music store again rhythmbox
will crash as I described at the beginning.

[Bug 554807] Re: Netbook launcher shows duplicate icon

2010-05-02 Thread Roman Bolshakov
Same here. Judging by comment #12, duplicate icon isn't showed only when the
icon have desktop uri but in other conditions it's showed. In my case this
happens because of this line in user-dirs.dirs:
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=$HOME/

Thank you. It looks like my misunderstanding. I had installed scilab-
full-bin instead of simply scilab package. So, I installed the one and
the problem went away. Now it's working.

Sorry for the noise.

[Bug 446146] Re: Several Huawei USB dongle don't work with kernel 2.6.31-12.40 (2.6.31.1 update related)

2010-03-13 Thread Roman Bolshakov
@Martin Wildam: Here is need explained answer, so let me describe my
short story. I bought my first 3g modem in the last December. Network
Manager detected it without any problems. Then I used it often for a
couple of week.

It started to work anyhow after some time. Sometimes it was detected
after reboot, sometimes on specific usb port. The modem even was not
always detectable.

Then I didn't use it more than a month. I checked it recently, now the
modem is detected from any USB port.
