[Bug 1241621] Re: Mouse battery menu indicator sticks on (estimating...)

2013-10-20 Thread Roman Vorobets
Same for me - the power indicator shows "(estimating...)" forever.
Surprisingly enough, mouse battery indicator works in Windows.

[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10

2013-10-19 Thread Roman Vorobets
I use Dvorak and Russian layouts. Now hotkeys in Russian layout work
like the layout was QWERTY, not Dvorak, which is very inconvenient, as I
have to use different physical keys when I switch layouts. It worked
flawlessly for years, and now it's broken.

[Bug 885730] Re: keyboard layout indicator reacts incorrectly

2012-03-11 Thread Roman Vorobets
Hi Charles,

"ensure that the layout is us" means that you must select the US layout either
by shortcut or by using indicator menu.
So basically, open gedit and set layout #1 there. Then open terminal and set
layout #2 there. Then switch to gedit window. Language indicator will still
indicate layout #2 (which is incorrect), although layout #1 is selected (which
is correct).

Hope this helps.

[Bug 951818] [NEW] USB sound card volume buttons affect master volume

2012-03-10 Thread Roman Vorobets
Public bug reported:

I have a USB soundcard, which has three buttons for volume control: volume up,
volume down and mute. I believe these buttons should control output volume of
this soundcard, but in Ubuntu they affect the master volume. This ruins the
whole idea of having USB sound card. E.g., when using Skype, I want to set the
volume only for my headphones, not for the rest of the system.
Windows does not have this bug, as I can set the volume of my primary sound
card and the USB soundcard independently.

[Bug 884379] [NEW] Language selector shows incorrect language

2011-10-31 Thread Roman Vorobets
Public bug reported:

Language selector state is inconsistent when switching between windows.
I have two keyboard layouts installed: English (Dvorak) and Russian. Different
layouts are used for individual windows, new windows use the default layout.
The problem is: when I switch from a window with Russian layout to a window
with English layout, the language selector does not change from 'ru' to 'en'.
If I try to type, English layout is used, but the language selector still shows
'ru'. This works the other way round, changing from the window with English
layout to the window with Russian layout does not change the language selector
from 'en' to 'ru'.
This worked in Natty, but is broken in Oneiric somehow.

[Bug 729831] [NEW] Output controls are not switched to headset

2011-03-05 Thread Roman Vorobets
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

After my bluetooth headset is connected to the system, the sound output is
switched from the speakers to the headset, but the volume control does not set
the volume of the headset. I have to go to "Sound Preferences... -> Output",
then choose my headset here. Then I can control the volume.
Also, after selecting a new output device, the "Output volume" slider changes
its position, but the volume remains the same. I have to either click on the
slider or use the volume keys on the keyboard to actually set the volume.

[Bug 36812] Re: Keyboard layout change on hotkeys press instead of release and do not work well with shortcuts

I think enabling multilingual people to use both keyboard shortcuts and
layout switching actually IS a good reason to contradict the spec.
Please improve the patch and apply it!

[Bug 568401] Re: Indicator applets open when pressing S or M key via NX, VNC

2010-05-01 Thread Roman Vorobets
After digging further into the code, I found the problem: the
egg_keymap_resolve_virtual_modifiers() function in
indicator-applet-0.3.6/src/eggaccelerators.c returns concrete_mods=0 for
modifiers that are not bound to any key (which I confirm happens for Super key
in remote session).
As a temporary (?) solution, I propose not to grab a key in
indicator-applet-0.3.6/src/tomboykeybinder.c:do_grab_key() function if
binding->modifiers equals zero.

[Bug 568401] Re: Indicator applets open when pressing S or M key via NX, VNC

2010-05-01 Thread Roman Vorobets
I've just found why I'm having this problem with plain local login (not with
VNC). I had my Windows key mapped to Hyper, I changed this to default behavior
(Super key), this fixed it for me.
I have downloaded the indicator's sources and I can see in
indicator-applet-0.3.6/src/applet-main.c that the shortcut passed to
tomboy_keybinder_bind() function is either "S" or "M"; so the
"" part did not work for my system.

[Bug 495186] Re: Volume keyboard shortcuts are being reset after reboot

2010-05-01 Thread Roman Vorobets
The problem still persists for me after upgrading to 10.04.
Note the symptoms are different from neferty: only Volume Up/Down/Mute
shortcuts are reset and they show up as disabled in configuration window.

** Description changed:

After an upgrade to Ubuntu Karmic on my Asus Eee PC1000, the keyboard
shortcuts for volume mute, volume up and down are reset (or not saved) after
rebooting the system. I have to set them manually each time after the restart,
which is quite frustrating.
I expect the shortcuts not to be reset.

[Bug 568401] Re: Indicator applets open when pressing S or M key via NX, VNC

2010-05-01 Thread Roman Vorobets
This bug affects me too, but when NOT using VNC.
This is quite annoying. I had to remove indicator applet.
Juts upgraded to 10.04.

[Bug 154236] Re: Add "retry" button on free space check (was: kubuntu update tool)

2010-04-30 Thread Roman Vorobets
I'm quite disappointed to see this bug having "Wishlist" importance and
still not fixed in Karmic. Having to wait for the preparation process
for about 10 minutes, and another 5 minutes (plus 10 minutes to start
the process again) to undo the changes after "no free disk space" error
is not very user friendly.

[Bug 495186] [NEW] Volume keyboard shortcuts are being reset after reboot

2009-12-10 Thread Roman Vorobets
Public bug reported:

After an upgrade to Ubuntu Karmic on my Asus Eee PC1000, the keyboard shortcuts
for volume mute, volume up and down are reset (or not saved) after rebooting
the system. I have to set them manually each time after the restart, which is
quite frustrating.
I expect the shortcuts not to be reset.

[Bug 342447] Re: Bluetooth mouse connection in Karmic not working at startup and drops when resuming from a low power state

2009-12-10 Thread Roman Vorobets
My mouse is Icon7 S450 Bluetooth Laser Mouse and I have the same problem under
Ubuntu Karmic: after resuming from suspend with my mouse turned on it no longer
works; but if I turn off the mouse before suspending and turn it on after
resuming, everything is ok.
I use Blueman bluetooth manager, and the symptoms are the same as #34, i.e. the
mouse shows up as a connected, I can see the data flow between the mouse and
the laptop but neither movement nor clicks are possible.
