Confirmed this from Edgy and Feisty.

As Sarah Hobbs mentioned, this might be a problem with the flash plugin.
The same lockup occurs from within Firefox.

While installing Kubuntu Feisty Fawn Herd 5, the installer crashed:

1. Boot the Kubuntu LiveCD
2. Execute the Install application
3. Go through the normal install process, manual partitioning performed:
 -hda4: root partition, ext3 (~50Gb)
 -hda3: data partition, ext3 (~50Gb)
 -hda2: not mounted, ufs (~50Gb)
 -hda1: linux swap (~2Gb)
4. While the progress dialog displays scanning files, crash occurs.
