[Bug 2056555] Re: Allow bitbake to create user namespace
Who would be shipping this trusted app? Bitbake can run at arbitrary locations because it isn't something you install at a distro level, but something the user fetches and runs. I think we'll have to fallback to spawning inside unshare assuming a future point release of apparmour allows unshare to work in some sense. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2056555 Title: Allow bitbake to create user namespace To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/2056555/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 2056555] Re: Allow bitbake to create user namespace
If I'm reading the comments in apparmor correctly (I don't have a 2404 machine myself) then unshare doesn't work out of the box either: # This profile allows almost everything and only exists to allow # unshare to work on a system with user namespace restrictions # being enforced. # unshare is allowed access to user namespaces and capabilities # within the user namespace, but its children do not have # capabilities, blocking unshare from being able to be used to # arbitrarily by-pass the user namespace restrictions. # We restrict x mapping of any code that is unknown while unshare # has privilige within the namespace. To help ensure unshare can't # be used to attack the kernel. # # disabled by default as it can break some use cases on a system that # doesn't have or has disable user namespace restrictions for unconfined # use aa-enforce to enable it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2056555 Title: Allow bitbake to create user namespace To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/2056555/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2056555] Re: Python can't write to /proc files
I'll add some context and explanation. Bitbake can use user namespaces to disconnect the networking for specific worker processes, which is an important isolation feature that would be unfortunate to have to disable on ubuntu hosts. This is a very similar situation to buildah, which already has an apparmour profile to allow userns. The catch is that bitbake is not installed as part of the system, so you can't hardcode a path like /usr/bin/bitbake. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2056555 Title: Python can't write to /proc files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/2056555/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sort of: it queries musicbrainz, and musicbrainz will proxy the request to freedb if it doesn't have any matches. This is where your bad data comes from. When you hit Submit you'll get a form asking for either album or artist name, enter one of those and you might find the album you are after (the only difference being a different CD ID). If that doesn't work, you'll need to Import from FreeDB and fix the data. > btw it is a pity that when you submit a disk, it doesn't send all yout > painstakingly typed titles to Musicbrainz, and you have to type them all > over again on the musicbrainz site. This requires a fair amount of work, and isn't possible with the current code.
