"lmms" and "lmms-common" install and work without Wine! And nice icon! But Update Manager tries to replace Your packages with ones from Ubuntu repo. Most of apps (incl. winecfg) produce grunting sound when there's more than 2 channels. But even so Stalker CS (using OpenAL probably) produces clear sound on 5.1 profile. I just installed Goldendict on my mother's machine and it worked.
