[Bug 941874] Re: (fakeraid) root device not activated during boot

2012-03-15 Thread Ryan Beasley
I just updated to 1.0.0.rc16-4.1ubuntu7, but I still end up staring at
an initramfs prompt before needing to manually issue dmraid -ay
followed by Ctrl-D to resume boot.

We still need the kpartx hook, as pointed out by the bug submitter, in
order to fix this. :)

[Bug 501149] [NEW] Frequent compiz crashes in libwobbly.so

2009-12-28 Thread Ryan Beasley
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

I see this bug semi frequently (but not 100%) when doing things such as
maximizing windows. This system was upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic,
/and/ I have upgrade my NVIDIA driver to 190.53. I haven't yet tested
with an older NVIDIA driver.

I'll attach a stacktrace.

[Bug 501149] Re: Frequent compiz crashes in libwobbly.so

2009-12-28 Thread Ryan Beasley
Stacktrace obtained by logging in from a second machine, attaching GDB
to compiz.real, and then waiting until the next crash occurred.

In the meantime, I've disabled the wobbly effect as a (hopeful)
workaround. If additional reproductions/details are needed, just ask.

Thanks.  =)

2009-12-28 Thread Ryan Beasley
Also, FYI, I think that ubuntu-bug/apport ended up selecting the wrong X
configuration and log files. (I have 3 servers running--long story,
don't ask.) If they're relevant, I can attach them later.

[Bug 419492] [NEW] compiz + rdesktop not fully redrawing window contents

2009-08-26 Thread Ryan Beasley
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rdesktop

Description:Ubuntu 9.04
Release:9.04

compiz:
  Installed: 1:0.8.2-0ubuntu8.1

rdesktop:
  Installed: 1.6.0-2ubuntu1

On two separate x86_64 Ubuntu 9.04 workstations w/ Compiz (one at home,
one at work), I'm repeatedly noticing screen update problems with a
combination of Compiz, rdesktop, and Windows' console on the remote end.

What happens is this:

1. Interact with console such that output is long enough to require scrolling.
2. Areas toward the bottom of the Windows console, which should have text
(like a shell prompt), are completely black.

To workaround this, I can cause the window to be redrawn correctly by
either (a) moving/resizing the Windows console window inside the
rdesktop session, or (b) moving the rdesktop window itself.

Things I /haven't/ yet tried to see if they're related, but could if those
triaging bugs would want me to:
1. Reproducing in another desktop environment, window manager (ex: KDE 4,
Metacity).

Please let me know if any additional data are required.
