[Bug 425366] [NEW] Cannot connect to WEP 802.1x network

2009-09-06 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

I am unable to connect to a wireless access point using WEP 802.1x encryption
with PEAP authentication and MSCHAPv2 inner authentication. My wireless adapter
(as given by lspci) is:
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02).

The wireless network is in range and should be strong enough to connect as this
is what iwlist reports for the desired AP:
Quality=59/100  Signal level:-72 dBm  Noise level=-127 dBm

Following is an except from kern.log of the connection attempt:
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.500093] wlan0: authenticate with AP mac
addr
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.501069] wlan0: authenticate with AP mac
addr
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.510684] wlan0: authenticated
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.510696] wlan0: associate with AP mac addr
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.709038] wlan0: associate with AP mac addr
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.710746] wlan0: RX AssocResp from mac addr
(capab=0x11 status=0 aid=27)
Sep 6 14:50:55 Puck kernel: [ 472.710753] wlan0: associated
Sep 6 14:51:51 Puck kernel: [ 528.925907] wlan0: disassociating by local
choice (reason=3)
Sep 6 14:51:55 Puck kernel: [ 532.236906] wlan0: deauthenticated

Network manager spins like connecting. Both green lights pop up like
everything is working, but the connection fails and I am prompted for my
credentials again. I have attempt to connect to the AP manually using
iwconfig and wpa_supplicant with similar results.

lsb_release -r:
Ubuntu v 9.04

uname -a:
Linux Puck 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 19:25:34 UTC 2009 x86_64
GNU/Linux

The computer will fail to connect to the AP using a 32-bit installation
as well.

[Bug 242381] [NEW] transmission behaves strangely with UPnP port mapping

2008-06-23 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: transmission

Transmission doesn't seem to correctly report success or failure of port
mapping through UPnP. The following is a snippet from the transmission
message log. UPnP is enabled on the router that I'm going though.
Something is confused.

[Bug 226918] [NEW] Evolution messages created by nautilus send-to context menu won't send.

2008-05-05 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When using the send to context menu in nautilus to send messages, the
resulting message that nautilus constructs cannot be sent. When observing the
message in the outbox, the To: field shows the correct address, usually
something like Last Name, First Name [EMAIL PROTECTED]. However, the Last
Name field is linkified as an e-mail address and the send error describes
that the domain Last Name couldn't be found. I will attach a screenshot of
the error.
I guess this could also be a nautilus error, I shall perform more
experimentation and add comments if I find anything interesting.

[Bug 223476] [NEW] Failure to have openoffice.org-math intalled causes data corruption

2008-04-27 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

When editing an .odt file that contains formulas without the openoffice
.org-math package installed, formulas in the document are somehow
corrupted. If the same file is opened in an instance of openoffice that
does have -math installed, the formulas show visual glitches, and the
only way to restore them is to make a change to each one, one at a time.
As far as I can tell the actual formula is still there. I'm unsure if
this is a bug in openoffice or if -math should just always be included
as a dependency. My default hardy install did not come with openoffice
.org-math installed.

Steps to reproduce
Installed openoffice.org-math
Create a document with a formula in it
Uninstall openoffice.org-math
Reopen the document and make some change and save
Reinstall openoffice.org-math
Observe strange drawing of formulas.

Behavior has changed on my system as of 10/16. Strigi no longer appears

Then, randomly for no reason the CPU usage went back up again later.

[Bug 147753] gutsy: compiz sometimes becomes non-responsive

2007-10-01 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Compiz will sometimes freeze and cause all windows to become non-
responsive.

Steps to reproduce
1) Select some kind of popup dialog
2) Application generating popup dialog freezes or blocks in the GUI thread (the
compiz window greys out)
3) Compiz hangs.

Killing the application in question unhangs compiz, but I am unable to
figure out how to do this without switching to a tty.

[Bug 115650] javascript mimetype is not correctly detected

http://localhost/ or http://127.0.0.1/ I get a host not found error,
which is incorrect. If I quit from KNetworkManager Konqueror works as
expected.

My assumption is that konqueror has somehow been patched to check
knetworkmanager before resolving addresses, and it should probably make
sure that localhost isn't being requested before just saying the page
can't be found.

[Bug 97452] Kate incorrectly detects Objective-C source/header files

2007-03-28 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kate

In feisty, Kate will open objective-c source files using the Scientific/Matlab
highlighting mode, and objective-c header files using the Sources/C++
highlighting mode, although a Sources/Objective-C highlighting modes does exist.
Additionally, I have noticed that one of the mimetypes for objective-c
highlighting in Kate is text/c-objc-src. I konqueror however, reports the
mimetypes at text/c-objcsrc and correctly detects the type of the files, i.e.
mouseover puts Objective-C source file in the status bar.

[Bug 50737] Re: totem-xine crashes with 'BadAlloc' when run manually

2006-06-23 Thread Ryan Zeigler
This does indeed correct the problem. I apologize for the duplicate. I
should note that this seems to be i915 specific, since that is the
videocard in my laptop. This bug never occured at all on my desktop
which uses a Nvidia GeForce4 440 MX.

[Bug 50737] totem-xine crashes with 'BadAlloc' when run manually

2006-06-22 Thread Ryan Zeigler
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem-xine

totem-xine crashes when launched without a file to play with the
following error:

The program 'totem' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 81 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

However, when launched by double clicking a file or inserting a DVD
video disk, totem executes correctly and plays the file.

** Affects: totem (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

yields the following output:

automatic installation failed due to network problems or upstream
changes

[Bug 18362] Re: ndiswrapper usb dongle causes kernel panics

2006-06-13 Thread Ryan Zeigler
I have left my machine at a terminal and just left it sit. When
ndiswrapper is loaded with a 386 kernel nothing happens, however, when I
let it sit with a 686 kernel I get a kernel panic.

I have a WUSB54Gv1 wirless card

Hobbsee packaged version 1.17 for me, and it solves the problem. Its located
