I did not delete DB postgres by purpose, but somehow it disappeared. I have looked into to the logs to see if I could find anything that indicates I have deleted the postgres DB. If I do this createdb -U postgres xx same error. Normally this just creates the database. Problem fixed. It was postgresql 8.2 package which cased the problem.
