[Bug 131094] Re: Heavy Disk I/O harms desktop responsiveness
I can confirm this on a fresh install of 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-16-generic. Any sustained disk I/O causes other apps to become unresponsive. I don’t get how this was not caught in beta, because it has the capability to render my system unusable. -- Heavy Disk I/O harms desktop responsiveness https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131094 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 162949] removing AC power causes unwanted suspend and breaks lid button
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Adding a new bug because this has appeared as a regression in Gutsy. (I turned up old problems with this on a Google search, but the bug reports have been closed for over a year.) gnome-power-manager 2.20.0-0ubuntu6 Linux soyuz 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Sun Sep 23 19:50:39 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux hal 0.5.9.1-6ubuntu5 Lenovo Thinkpad T60 (Core Duo, Intel ICH7/945M chipsets, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400) Incorrect behavior is as follows: 0. Start with computer running on AC adapter with a fully-charged battery (which at this point in its lifespan provides roughly 2 hours of run time), then unplug AC adapter. 1. g-p-m puts computer in S3 state. 2. After this first round of suspend-resume, g-p-m no longer knows what the lid state is. Either on battery power or on AC, closing the lid does not trigger a suspend AS PER MY PREFERENCES IN THE CONFIGURATION APP. This bug is always reproducible even from a fresh boot. S3 functionality worked perfectly in Feisty - this is a rather serious regression as I am a mobile user. Please reply to let me know if any further information is needed. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- removing AC power causes unwanted suspend and breaks lid button https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 139291] Re: g-p-m suspends laptop on unplugging event
I’m seeing this problem too; Googling “gnome-power-manager suspend when unplugged” comes up with an ancient bug from nearly 18 months ago which seems to have been *fixed* in g-p-m 2.13. I didn’t see this issue on Feisty; it appeared when I ran the upgrade program to Gutsy. Running Gutsy 7.10 release with all current updates as of today. g-p-m 2.20.0-0ubuntu6, Linux soyuz 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Sun Sep 23 19:50:39 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux Lenovo Thinkpad T60 (Core Duo, Intel ICH7/945GM chipsets, Radeon Mobility X1400) -- g-p-m suspends laptop on unplugging event https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139291 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 107325] Re: Kernel page_mapcount Eek Requires Reboot
Also getting this bug in Feisty 7.04, with Linux 2.6.20-16-generic i686. Kernel bug message is attached even though it matches previously submitted copies. Active process at the time of crash was Pidgin. ** Attachment added: "relevant dmesg output" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8077536/dmesg -- Kernel page_mapcount Eek Requires Reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107325 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
