[Bug 99528] Mouse unusably slow when there is a lot of IO
Public bug reported: Whenever my PC has a lot of network IO (e.g. when downloading something from the web, copying backups over ssh, ...) the mouse pointer becomes extremely slow and trails behind up to three or more seconds. Yet, most of my movements are buffered, so they still happen, but only with a delay. At the same time, everything else, including keyboard, audio, and even resource intensive tasks like 3D graphics, is still handled quickly and is perfectly responsive. This happens so often that even every day tasks become difficult to accomplish. [Bug 99119] Re: 1920x1200 screen resolution does not work (i810 + Intel 82G965)
Btw., I also tried playing with the 915resolution tool, but this only *reduced* the screen resolution even further (to 640x680). ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://librarian.launchpad.net/7076947/xorg.conf -- 1920x1200 screen resolution does not work (i810 + Intel 82G965) https://launchpad.net/bugs/99119 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 99114] Re: System reboots on heavy 3D activity (i810 + Intel 82G965 + Compiz)
Additional notes: - The problem also happens when compiz is not used. - The i810 driver was not automatically recognized, I added it to xorg.conf manually. By default, the generic vesa driver was used. - As can be seen in the Xorg.0.log, the driver fell back to 1600x1200 though 1920x1200 is configured. I have opened bug #99119 for this. -- System reboots on heavy 3D activity (i810 + Intel 82G965 + Compiz) https://launchpad.net/bugs/99114 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
