Kind of confirmation. * Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS * 4.15.0-76-generic #86-Ubuntu SMP * Xubuntu flavor * Xfce 4.12 * Firefox 72.0.2 In my case, both contextmenu and stored credential dropdown list are miss-aligned (by approximately {-130px;-60px}) when the 'Title bar' display option is unchecked (=title bar not rendered). [Bug 1814599] [NEW] os-prober truncates initrd line, results in kernel panic
Public bug reported: With multiple initrd paths (e.g. for intel microcode) os-prober and linux-boot-prober report only the first part, the microcode. The /boot/initrd.img is missing. [Bug 1641308] Re: Partitions display wrong in gnome -disks - ok in gparted
Even if it would, I (n00b) don't know what you mean by "upstream". In Debian they still have serious udisks probs with add-, change-, update events (#571, 572, 573, 574, 581, 613), but I fail to see the context to simply opening GParted. Hi, I'm on Cinnamon Mint 19.0 / 19.1 and have the same problem: After starting GParted once, the partition info for GNOME Disks (extended partition only) is permanently lost, even without any action in GParted. [Bug 1715476] [NEW] Incorrect icon on wireless connection
Public bug reported: On my new installation of Xenial, the Network Manager behaves strangely. When I booted the first time with no known networks, I received a notification about available networks. I checked the list of available, created one configuration and connected. So far, OK. However, after restart, when the notebook boots and there is already a known network, it connects, but instead of wireless signal strength the nm applet displays icon for wired network. Connection information shows it is a wifi network (Interface: 802.11 WiFi (wlp63s0)), but reports very weird speed (6 Mb/s) - the real speed is ~200 Mb/s. Also, the list of available networks is empty. Opening nmtui and listing connections in "Activate a connection" I can see other networks. But the applet shows no wireless networks and sometimes does not even show the disconnect item in wireless (sometimes it does). I did not recognize a pattern when it shows the menu item and when it does not. When I run `sudo service network-manager restart`, everything fixes to the proper state - I seen wlan icon, available networks, only connection information keeps telling me I am connected with 6Mb/s. The package version is 1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.1. The wireless adapter is Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac, using module ath10k_pci. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: atheros icon wireless ** Attachment added: "NetworkManager problem.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1715476/+attachment/4945506/+files/NetworkManager%20problem.png ** Attachment removed: "NetworkManager problem.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1715476/+attachment/4945506/+files/NetworkManager%20problem.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1715476 Title: Incorrect icon on wireless connection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1715476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 417302] [NEW] [keramic] cracking sounds before and after sound playback
Public bug reported: I have an Intel audio on my HP laptop. When playing any sound (e.g. warning sounds from command line, etc.) the output I hear is a loud crack in speakers and than the sound. The speakers do the crack sound even when the headphones are connected, just the sound is played back in the headphones only. It seems like something with power saving - windows is performing simmiliar behaviour. But I still have an installation of Intrepid and there is no such thing - the playback is smooth, no cracking, nothing. The cracking sound does not appear when playing two sounds with minimal time difference (e.g. 10 seconds), but with bigger difference (e.g. a minute), the cracking is back. Also, now I noticed, that before the playback the mute icon (the diode on the laptop body, not the indicator in main panel of Ubuntu) shines for a short time, than turns off again. Maybe that's the reason of the cracking sound, but as I said, such behaviour did not exists in Intrepid. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: sound ** Description changed: I have an Intel audio on my HP laptop. But I still have an installation of Intrepid and there is no such thing - the playback is smooth, no cracking, nothing. The cracking sound does not appear when playing two sounds with minimal time difference (e.g. 10 seconds), but with bigger difference (e.g. a minute), the cracking is back. - Also, now I noticed, that before the playback the mute icon shines for a short time, than turns off again. Maybe that's the reason of the cracking sound, but as I said, such behaviour did not exists in Intrepid. + Also, now I noticed, that before the playback the mute icon (the diode on the laptop body, not the indicator in main panel of Ubuntu) shines for a short time, than turns off again. [Bug 301552] Re: in trash: show delete-date
Thanks for the prompt response Pedro. It would help if you clarify my next logical question: How is one supposed to use the Trash feature in ubuntu? Is it currently meant only for the purpose of immediate (NOT short/long term) retrieval of deleted files? Because I cannot currently empty the trash without loosing both recent and really old files, when I can only afford to delete the really old files. But I may not be using the Trash feature in the way it is intended and would really like someone to tell me how to use it the way it exists currently. [Bug 301552] Re: in trash: show delete-date
A similar bug has been fixed in KDE/Kubuntu and is discussed here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/228369 Using all the links to code above and the Kubuntu bugfix, it doesnt seem like fixing this bug in Ubuntu/Nautilus should take too long for a programmer (unfortunately I'm not, so maybe I'm wrong). This bug is really a nuisance for people who need to empty trash often without having to delete the recently trashed files. Is this still a non-trivial fix? Is it still not qualified to be a papercut? -- in trash: show delete-date https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 200127] Re: ubuntu incorrectly believes I enjoy staring at progress bars
Based on some of the comments, looks like some people might be quite interested in what the updater is doing, especially people who'd like to disconnect the network as soon as the downloads are done, or if you'd like to restart any of the programs. I propose this: Add check box(es) in the update manager window that allow user to (1) specify whether the update manager minimizes to notif area and does its thing quitely and (2) also specify whether it should automatically close when all updates are successfully installed. The update manager already uses the notif area to inform the user about updates so I'm hoping that making the above changes should only involve minimal coding. -- ubuntu incorrectly believes I enjoy staring at progress bars https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
