[Bug 1489127] [NEW] plasma-pa should conflict kmix

2015-08-26 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

plasma-pa and kmix are volume managers. both do almost the same thing.
the big disadvantage is that kmix always starts with plasma and grabs the
keyboard input

so you multimedia buttons wont work as long as kmix runs. when you close
kmix, they still dont work. you have to make sure that kmix wont start
itself after login and relog. only when thers no kmix at startup,
volumebuttons will work on plasma-pa

so to fix this it would be good to conflict kmix in plasma-pa

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10
Package: plasma-pa 4:5.3.95-0ubuntu1

[Bug 1474318] [NEW] please build the xorg-libinput driver [request]

2015-07-14 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

for fedora 22 and newer its the default input system. ubuntu dont have that
driver yet for xorg.
so please build the driver

here is the fedora bug tracker:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1181565

source site:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-input-libinput/

why? because i want to use it. i love the input in fedora, i love how my mouse
works together with my wacom both work really smooth on the desktop side. thats
not the case in ubuntu or any other distro.
thats why i tried first arch and it did work like charm and then fedora wich
was much better at this time.

so please, you dont have to set it as default input or anything but
please build this driver

[Bug 1472283] Re: bootctl install does not work as systemd bootloader is not built/shipped

2015-07-07 Thread Sandra Karuving
right now i use gummiboot because it is nice to have my installation
in my uefi menü and can start it directly. cause gummiboot is EOL now i
wanted to switch to systemd boot, just like in arch.

 If that's confusing, we could also stop installing bootctl completely.
that would be one option or you just build it that it works, even when thers no
integration... but a tool you know it wont work is no option for an OS..

[Bug 1431794] [NEW] cant use classes to set colors

2015-03-13 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

in inkscape, when we try to use classes to set a color (important for
kde-plasma workspace theming). inkscape always writes the color of the
element, written in the classdescription directly to the style of the
element. we have to remove it from outside inkscape all the time.

for example:

create an svg file with the content:

?xml version=1.0 encoding=UTF-8 standalone=no?
svg
   xmlns:dc=http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/;
   xmlns:cc=http://creativecommons.org/ns#;
   xmlns:rdf=http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#;
   xmlns:svg=http://www.w3.org/2000/svg;
   xmlns=http://www.w3.org/2000/svg;
   xmlns:sodipodi=http://sodipodi.sourceforge.net/DTD/sodipodi-0.dtd;
   xmlns:inkscape=http://www.inkscape.org/namespaces/inkscape;
   viewBox=0 0 24 24
   id=svg
   version=1.1
   inkscape:version=0.91 r13725
   width=100%
   height=100%
   sodipodi:docname=tmp0.svg
  defs
 id=defs1
style
   id=current-color-scheme
   type=text/css.ColorScheme-Background {
color:#33;
}/style
  /defs
  metadata
 id=metadata1
rdf:RDF

   rdf:resource=http://purl.org/dc/dcmitype/StillImage; /
dc:title/dc:title
  /cc:Work
/rdf:RDF
  /metadata
  sodipodi:namedview
 pagecolor=#808080
 bordercolor=#66
 borderopacity=1
 objecttolerance=10
 gridtolerance=10
 guidetolerance=10
 inkscape:pageopacity=0
 inkscape:pageshadow=2
 inkscape:window-width=1920
 inkscape:window-height=1016
 id=namedview1
 showgrid=true
 inkscape:zoom=11.313708
 inkscape:cx=5.1845261

   type=xygrid
   id=grid1
   empspacing=5
   visible=true
   enabled=true
   snapvisiblegridlinesonly=true /
  /sodipodi:namedview
/svg

as you can se we embedded the css alreads. so save it as test.svg, and
open it with inkscape.

now create an element like a circle, open the xml editor and navigate to
the circle element.

in your xml editor you can write now a new attribute class with the
value of ColorScheme-Background and click on 'set'

next go to the style part and set the value only to fill:currentColor.

now it *should* change the color to what is giver by the css (that part works).
BUT alongside to the fill:currentColor there will now be a color:#33.
and that should not happen, because it breaks the funktionality of the css.

when you try to remove that part color:#33 from xml editor, its
not possible. but you can remove it from outside inkscape. inkscape can
still read the file.

so please make it possible that it wont write the color from css to the
style element, but uses what we write in.

Public bug reported:

the package ubuntu-standard has a dependency to cron for 15.04, with

The following extra packages will be installed:

  anacron cron ubuntu-minimal ubuntu-standard upstart ureadahead
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  systemd-cron systemd-sysv

it tries to remove the ubuntu basics wich can lead to a nonworking

[Bug 1290333] [NEW] needs upgrade - additional formats | faster en/decoding

2014-03-10 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

soundkonverter needs an upgrade to the latest version (right now 2.1.x)
additional, it needs dependencies an more more libs. for example for *.opus
audio support. there is an opensuse build system repository, you can look for
the best release build:

deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/HessiJames/xUbuntu_12.04  ./
(for all ubuntu releases since 12.04).
please make it possible to use the same formats like with this version, without
the need of this repository.

[Bug 1260514] [NEW] please improve font rendering (with howto)

2013-12-12 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

a long standing probleme on kubuntu was the font rendering. on gnome
there are good looking bolder fonts. go over to plasma desktop the
fonts are lighter but look kinda blurry.

last week i found a post that helps with this a lot. original screenshot
http://i.imgur.com/n4Vauly.png after enabling and restart my fonts are
so beautiful clean on both computer displays and the netbook. i dont
want to go back.

why kubuntu-settings? because it effects only kubuntu. the gnome parts
prefer the bolder font look.

i dont know how to enable this system wide but the howto is:
open systemsettings, fontconfiguration and revert to the normal configuration
use system settings
remove your ~/.fonts.conf (its depricated anyways)
open ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf
paste this in:

?xml version='1.0'?
!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM 'fonts.dtd'
fontconfig
 match target=font
  edit mode=assign name=autohint
   booltrue/bool
  /edit
 /match
 match target=font
  edit mode=assign name=rgba
   constnone/const
  /edit
 /match
 match target=font
  edit mode=assign name=hinting
   booltrue/bool
  /edit
 /match
 match target=font
  edit mode=assign name=hintstyle
   consthintmedium/const
  /edit
 /match
 match target=font
  edit mode=assign name=antialias
   booltrue/bool
  /edit
 /match
/fontconfig

save it.
now remove ~/.cache/fontconfig (note: rebuild fontcache dont work, even if you
enforce it completely) and restart X / PC.
after the login you should be on a really perfect looking font setting

[Bug 1248762] [NEW] [request] option for full pixel path

2013-11-06 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

at the moment when you creeate an objext with the height 9, the object it in
the source
height 8.99. thats bad, because i need it for a project in Qt and the Qt
renderer is very hard with something like this and the result is that thers a
big space between this object an the next.
one way is to look the sources and fix problems like this.

a better way would be an option in inkscape itself. that let us choose
that only full pixels can used for a end and start point. so it will be
impossible to set something to 0.5pixels and in the source of the svg
file it should be too on 1 or 0.

i hope you understand. that would make the work much simpler ind the
sources much cleaner.

another option would be that wen i set something to the pixel9, inkscape
should write that 9 in the file, not 8.

[Bug 1218820] [NEW] Akonadi writes wrong driver in config file

2013-08-30 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

after a fresh install of kubuntu 13.10 Nightly 2013-08-28. i was adding all
stuff to my system. because the mysql backend of akonadi seems broken herefor
many years, i was switching again to the sqlite backend. So i've installed the
akonadi-backend-sqlite via muon.
Now i was in the akonadi controll settings and switch over to the sqlite
package. but akonadi wont start again... so i looked around.
In the config file ~/.config/akonadi/akonadiserverrc ... akonadi writes the
driver Driver=QSQLITE3, a driver akonadi cant use. the driver it is installed
is Driver=QSQLITE.

after a little researche i found this on bko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316002 it sais that it is a
packaging error. so i open this here.

Sorry that i cant use apport, but it is broken atm

[Bug 1218820] Re: Akonadi-sqlite package broken, missing symlink/wrong installdir

2013-08-30 Thread Sandra Karuving
--!!!--

After a little hint i've got the problem. You install the sqlite plugin for
akonadi to
/usr/lib/plugins/sqldrivers/libqsqlite3.so
But Qt looks for plugins at

qmake -query QT_INSTALL_PLUGINS

which is /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt4/plugins

so to get a working plugin we need to symlink
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/plugins/sqldrivers/libqsqlite3.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt4/plugins

or better - install the plugin in the right directory

application. I think thats because of the new Adobe's CFF module.

so please upgrade to the Version 2.5.x with enabled and active Adobe's CFF. You
can test it with ppa:

[Bug 1203015] [NEW] upgrade to wayland 1.2

2013-07-19 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

With wayland/weston 1.2 release we've got a stable server API. only for
this it would be good to have it in the saucy release, because of
developers that want to test it

Please consider an upgrade to 1.2 of wayland/weston

http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/wayland-devel/2013-July/010278.html

with tarballs available from

  http://wayland.freedesktop.org/releases.html

as usual. Between the release candidate (1.1.91) and 1.2.0, we
(mostly Brian Lovin) managed to drum up a few bugs which we (mostly
Rob Bradford) promptly fixed. We have a lot of changes since the last
major release (1.1.0) three months ago. The notable features this
time are:

 - Stable wayland-server API.  When 1.0 was release we didn't proise a
   stable API for libwayland-server.so. This means that with every
   major Wayland release, compositor might break. When it was just
   weston, it wasn't a big deal, but as more external wayland
   compositors appear, we have to stop breaking this. Much of the
   input logic was split in an awkward way and has bee moved to
   weston. The remaining structs (mostly just wl_resource) have been
   made opaque. Finally, versioning didn't work correctly with the
   old API, so we had to replace a few functions. Much of this work
   was done by Jason Ekstrand.

 - Color management: Richard Hughes worked on color mangement for
   Wayland and implemented two schemes in Weston: a simple cms plugin
   that reads a profile from weston.ini and a more advanced plugin
   that integrates with colord. Here's a screenshot of how that in
   turn integrates with the GNOME control center:

 https://plus.google.com/107928060492923463788/posts/X62VdJxB2UK

 - The Wayland Input Method Framework from Jan Arne Petersen is
   feature complete, but we're keeping it in weston for now. We need
   a little more real world exposure and feedback before we promote
   this to official Wayland API. We have a sample on-screen keyboard
   in weston, and Maalit has also been ported to the framework.

 - Subsurface protocol from Pekka Paalanen. This extension lets us
   build up application windows from multiple Wayland surface,
   potentially combining surfaces with different color spaces or
   buffer types.

 - Output scaling (HiDPI) from Alex Larsson. Alex describes the
   feature best in this blog entry:

 http://blogs.gnome.org/alexl/2013/06/28/hidpi-support-in-gnome

   It's worth noting that this is not an arbitrary scaling mechanism,
   it is for scaling an entire output by an integer factor.

 - Rasperry Pi backend and renderer from Collabora. There was a lot
   of coverage on this one: Pekkas post is the most technical, Daniels
   gives a good overview and then there's the Collaboras case stuy and
   a linux.com article among others.

http://ppaalanen.blogspot.com/2013/05/weston-on-raspberry-pi-accelerated.html
 http://fooishbar.org/tell-me-about/wayland-on-raspberry-pi/
 http://www.collabora.com/services/case-studies/raspberrypi

http://www.linux.com/news/embedded-mobile/mobile-linux/721510-raspberry-pi-gains-graphics-speed-as-wayland-replaces-x

 - Improved thread safety and relaxed thread-model assumptions in
   libwayland-client. One of the restrictions in the client side
   library was that we assume that the toolkit or application will
   provide a main thread which is responsible for reading events and
   distributing them to event queues for the other threads. We also
   assume that there will always only be one such thread. It turs out
   that this breaks in many cases, in particular, it clashes with the
   threading model of EGL. The client side event processing has been
   reworked to not make those assumptions.

 - Multi seat support from Rob Bradford. We can now configure how
   input devices gets assigned to wl_seats by setting udev properties
   on the devices. This lets us setup multiple seats in weston,
   similar to multi-pointer X, where each seat gets its own pointer
   and keyboard focus. Additionally, a pointer can be confined to a
   given output.

 - New example client that illustrates the application compositor
   idea. Some clients need to share buffers - a popular example is
   process separation in web browsers. One client wants to render to
   a surface, the other client wants to use the result as a texture.
   In wayland, this is achieved by having one client act as a
   compositor to the other, and nested is a minimal example of how
   this is done.

 - Make libxkbcommon support optional from Matt Roper. Some use cases
   don't need a full PC keyboard, for example a car dashboard or a
   set-top box panel has buttons but not a keyboard in the traditional
   sense. In these cases, we only need keycodes, and libxkbcommon is
   just dead weight.

There's a lot of minor features and improved functionality as well and
we have a lot of bugs fixes in this cycle too. Just from commit
messages, I count at least

[Bug 1203017] [NEW] weston needs a systemgroup to launch correctly

2013-07-19 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

Since ubuntu dont uses systemd, we need a systemgroup for users to start
wayland/weston without root/sudo

at the moment we neet to
sudo groupadd weston-launch
sudo usermod -a -G weston-launch $USER  ##replace $USER with username
##after that we can logout and
weston-launch

So it would be good if the weston package would create this group by
itself and add all users to it, if that is possible.

[Bug 1196018] [NEW] kwin with wayland support?

2013-06-29 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

With 4.11 Beta kwin is able to run on top if wayland, if wayland support is
enabled at compiling time. There is a howto by Martin Graesslin
 http://blog.martin-graesslin.com/blog/2013/06/starting-a-full-kde-plasma-session-in-wayland/

If you try this in kubuntu, we only get the standard wayland/weston
shell without the KDE Stuff. wayland/weston runs very smooth here. so it
should run. kwin/ Plasma rund great on X (i'm on Intel Hardware) so
there should be no problems.

The Problem is that the KDE session doesn't popup. after a little
research this could be the problem of no wayland support in kwin.

so just a question: is there wayland support? if not: why not? will it enabled
later? i think many people are interested to play and test this.

arch)
* google plus newer notification area ( Mr Jingle) let chromium crash if we
drag and drop him to the tabbar
no crash with chromium = 27
* Google plus Hangouts extension
https://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/+/learnmore/hangouts/ gives some weird
behavior. sometimes we cannopt write, sometimes its always highlighted,
sometimes its impossible to highlight. it makes hard to chat with others
works with chromium = 27
* drag and drop (for dnd ready sites like imgur) from gnome filemanagers dont
work every time
works with chromium = 26
* Chromium dont want to load current java extensiobns because it sais they are
to old (even with the current one)
fixed with chromium = 27

[Bug 1152730] [NEW] Wrong (source) version in pakage plasmate 1.0?

2013-03-08 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

Hi there.
I just want to try plasmate. after a little reserche i noticed that plasmate

so i apt-get install'ed plasmate
now is startet plasmate and it crashed after project creation. so i tried to
report a bug, in this moment i saw in Help about plasmare

Version 0.1alpha3. now i tried via terminal:

plasmate --version
Qt: 4.8.4

Plasmate: 0.1alpha3

this was strange, so i checked the package source and the changelog ends with

Is it possible that this version of plasmate in the package plasmate 1.0 is

[Bug 1083457] [NEW] [needs-upgrade] latest bugfix release

2012-11-26 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

Please consider an upgrade to the latest bugfix release of the intel graphics
driver. it will fix a bunch of crashes, little problems and will bring a + on
performance to users of older gen4 (like my GMA 4500) hardware.
this will fix a problem with minecraft/pokemmo/other-lwjgl-games that let the
xserver crash on gameend with gen4 graphics.
At this moment the version 2.20.14 is the latest but intel will continue to
bring bugfixreleases. since they are *bugfix* releases it should be possible to
upgrade withour konflict the ubuntu-stable-release-upgrade methodic. its just
like the KDE SC.

Please. this would bring back some performance to users of older
hardware and stbility to users of newer

[Bug 1066388] [NEW] xinput needs a new release for some apps

2012-10-13 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

the application synaptiks in kubuntu will not work with the old
version of xinput. we get following error:

Version error
The version of the XInput extension installed on your system is too old.
Version 2.0 was found, but at least version 2.0 is required.
If you want to be able to configure your touchpad, you have to upgrade your
system to a recent release of the Xorg display server.

This may likely involve a complete upgrade of your system. Please excuse
this inconvenience, but there is no way to make touchpad configuration
work on systems as old as yours.

so in the name of all net-and notebook users PLEASE upgrade to a newer
version.

[Bug 1047782] [NEW] dependency should not only be ureadahead, but (ureadahead|preload)

2012-09-08 Thread Sandra Karuving

core functionality of ureadhead and preload are the same, just prelink
doas this not only for systemstart, but for the uptime. secound is that
its not recommendet tu run both services the same time. but we can not
remoce ureadahead (well we can but that will cost upgradefailures in the

[Bug 1039612] [NEW] notification helper reboot action dont respect plasma-style

2012-08-21 Thread Sandra Karuving
Public bug reported:

after a upgrade of.. for example, network-manager. in your systemtray the
notification helper popsup with the hint to reboot your system. thats ok. but
whats not ok is that it will come with an yellow and big icon.
for the most applications that sat a systemtray icon (amarok, konversation,
kmix, klipper, akonadi you can ceate a plasma-theme based icon. thats good and
the notification helper should do this too

http://i.imgur.com/RnlmL.png - ugly...

i dont know of this it the notification helper too, but at the first
start, you'll have to install language support. so there is an lightbilb
in your tray with an yellow icon. this should be replaced too

if it is possible already it would be good if you can give us the name
for the *.svgz and the used ID so that we can create icons.

on the other side for the notification helper -downloads (witch starts
when you opens reqong without installed flash) we can set icons with the
name /icon/download.svg(z) ID=download
