[Bug 2080515] [NEW] Marco: Modal windows are not in focus when displayed
Public bug reported: Actual behaviour The windows are displayed, but they don't get the focus, so one needs to manually click on them. I'm not 100% sure that this triggers only on modal windows, but I think that's the case. Expected behaviour Modal windows should get the focus, when displayed. Steps to reproduce the behaviour There are several programs triggering this bug. One of them is Visual Studio Code. Open a text file, then invoke "Save as": the modal window is displayed, but not in focus. MATE general version mate-desktop 1.26.2-1.1build3. [Bug 1976362] [NEW] Tilix "Select All" action selects only the bottom (screen) of the buffer
Public bug reported: When performing the "Select All" action (Ctrl+Shift+A), only the bottom part of the scrollback buffer, corresponding to the last (visible) screen, is selected, instead of the entire buffer. To reproduce: - tap Enter until the buffer is two screens long - select all (Ctrl+Shift+A) - via scrollbar, go to the top of the buffer - you can observe that the selection stops at the top of the bottom screen This wasn't happening on Focal. It's not clear at which level is the problem. Jammy ships Tilix v1.94, however, I've installed v1.94 on Focal, and the issue doesn't happen. I couldn't test v1.93 on Jammy, due to library issues. I've found that this bugs affects applications other than gitk. I'm developing an FLTK application in Rust, and I get the same problem when my app displays a list of emojis (via hold browser widget). Hello! I think the bug can be closed: > BTW, "ConditionPathIsDirectory" is not new. It's been there for two years already in Ubuntu 20.04. On the same date of the bluez package upgrade, I had to revert to an older kernel version due to the amdgpu driver incompatibility, so that should be the cause. [Bug 1960709] [NEW] Recent bluez update broke Bluetooth for setups using a BT dongle
Public bug reported: A recent upgrade (seemingly 5.53-0ubuntu3.5) broke Bluetooth functionality for certain setups. Specifically, the `ConditionPathIsDirectory=` parameter has been added to the `bluetooth` Systemd unit. This breaks setups where users use a Bluetooth dongle, since when the system starts, the BT device may not be connected, and due to the condition, the `bluetooth` unit won't start at all. ** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1960709 Title: Recent bluez update broke Bluetooth for setups using a BT dongle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1960709/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1940836] Re: Libreoffice Calc rendering very slow on GTK3
I've changed my card to an AMD one. While it's considerably faster than the Nvidia, it's still slowish, or, to put in another way, considerably slower than the GTK2 counterpart. [Bug 1909682] [NEW] At package doesn't include sendmail package dependency
Public bug reported: The `at` program uses the local mail in order to report errors, specifically, it requires the `sendmail` binary. Without `sendmail`, any error during a job execution is reported in the syslog with a very confusing reference to a missing "mail" program. [Bug 1889085] [NEW] GTK File chooser search doesn't find files with a dot
Public bug reported: (I'm not sure this is the correct package to file the bug against) The (I assume) GTK 3.0 File chooser dialog doesn't allow searching files with a dot. In the previous, but working, File chooser, in order to search files, the typeahead would be used. In order to search dotfiles (files starting with dot), one would enable display of hidden files if required, then just type the filename (starting with the dot character). With the new search functionality, the dot character is not searched (or not considered valid, it's not clear), so one can't search dotfiles, and they need to manually go through the files in order to find the intended one(s). In order to reproduce, for example: - Open a webpage in Firefox - Click "Save As..." on an image - Tap Ctrl+H, if the hidden files are not displayed - Tap Ctrl+F, in order to search - Tap dot (`.`) no files show. I hope this is not another case of the (in)famous group of devs who's trying to reduce the whole desktop experience to a single blinking dot. It's more reliable to > use /dev/disk/by-uuid or /dev/disk/by-partuuid which are persistent. I think this is valid for pools (which in fact, I configure with this strategly, specifically by using `/dev/by-id` entries), but not for zvols (which is where I experienced the problem). Zvols use `/dev/zd*` symlink destinations, and those were the entries that I found swapped. I don't think there is a any relation between `/dev/disk/by-(id|uuid)` and zvols, since zvols live inside pools. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875045 Title: Ubiquity 20.04 exports existing ZFS pools To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1875045/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

> I suggest that you open a new upstream bug report if you want the current Thunar developer to look into this. Thanks for looking into it, but I have another experience with poor keyboard-based UX in Thunar, and in the big picture, it's clear that the devs don't have any consideration at all of this usage. They're certainly free to make their design decisions; I just think any effort is useless. [Bug 1801322] Re: MATE Power manager frequently displayes "Battery Discharging" notification, without disabling option
I've found that the correct key is `notify-discharge`, which solves the problem. This report is somewhat a mixed of two possibly still valid issues: 1. the kernel/firmware not correctly hanling ACPI events (the machine is a Surface Book) 2. a feature request for allowing the discharge notifications to be disabled. I'm not sure how to proceed (eg. closing as invalid, or splitting one or more of the two issues...). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1801322 Title: MATE Power manager frequently displayes "Battery Discharging" notification, without disabling option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mate-power-manager/+bug/1801322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1801322] [NEW] MATE Power manager frequently displayes "Battery Discharging" notification, without disabling option
Public bug reported: On my (MATE 18.04) laptop, the "Battery Discharing" notification is displayed very frequently (every minute, more or less). I've tried disabling it, but this is not possible, at least, on my distro (MATE 18.04). I'm somewhat confused, because the MATE power manager dconf keys of other MATE distros (ie. Mint) are signficantly more than the ones of my system: ```sh $ dconf list /org/mate/power-manager/ button-power brightness-ac backlight-battery-reduce button-lid-ac button-suspend idle-dim-battery button-lid-battery sleep-display-battery ``` This is also reflected in the GUI, which doesn't have any other option available. I've attempted to set the `notify-discharge` key: ```sh dconf write /org/mate/power-manager/notify-discharge false ``` but this doesn't help. [Bug 1795001] [NEW] Thunar automatically switches focus when selecting a removable device on the left pane
Public bug reported: When navigating the left pane with the keyboard, and selecting a removable device (or "Browse network"), Thunar automatically switches focus to the right pane. This makes keyboard navigation inconvenient, because one needs to switch back if passing over such entries. [Bug 1738219] [NEW] the kernel is blackholing IPv6 packets to linkdown nexthops
Public bug reported: When the 'ignore_routes_with_linkdown' sysctl is set, we should not consider linkdown nexthops during route lookup. While the code correctly verifies that the initially selected route ('match') has a carrier, it does not perform the same check in the subsequent multipath selection, resulting in a potential packet loss. In case the chosen route does not have a carrier and the sysctl is set, choose the initially selected route. Fixed in the upstream kernel with patch: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=bbfcd77631573ac4a9f57eb6169e04256a111bc1 I think this patch must be backported to stable kernel in Xenial. I've found that /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 doesn't exist, as setup by the Ubuntu installer. I've tried to run ecryptfs-setup-swap, which correctly sets up the system (I can see a change in /etc/fstab, /etc/crypttab, and also, /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 symlink is created), but when I restart the system, same problem happens. --- ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.2 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: saverio2356 F pulseaudio DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-06-10 (16 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64+mac (20140417) MachineType: Apple Inc.
