[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-10-20 Thread Screatch
Hi William,

Your PPA really helped me and I was able to set my hotkey to Shift +
Control L, however, CTRL + SHIFT + TAB combination, which I use to
switch to previous tab in browser, doesn't work anyome. I am pretty sure
that is related.

Would appreciate it if you coud take a look at this.

I can confirm that installer crashes with latest Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 2 on
Installing Languages. Workaround for choosing other language worked just
fine (In my case i used Russian). Clean install. Same behaviour as in
bug #1153852.

[Bug 771875] Re: Compiz Screenshot renders blue overlay on screenshots

2012-01-06 Thread Screatch
These are the small bugs that spoil the impression about Ubuntu.

Its really small and really annoying bug and i can't understand why this can't
be fixed.
There are atleast 2 ways i see how this get's no attention whatsoever for 9
months.

a. Add small delay before each screenshot, 5-15ms, so the overlay will be gone
by the time screenshot will actually be done.
b. Remove the blue overlay, border is sufficient

Is there anyway someone can pleaase release a patch? :)

I am using compiz screenshot for my scripts and using gnome-screenshot is the
shitty workaround for me.
scrot could work, but i love having script on Super + Btn 1 which i suspect
won't be able to implement the way i want for scrot.

Confirming, same problem. Ubuntu 11.04 clean install with all updates.
Erin Heimer workaround does not seem to always work.

Blue overlay happens randomly for me. Sometimes i get screenshots with
this overlay, sometimes normal screenshots.

[Bug 748401] [NEW] [Feature request] Ability to move tab bar

2011-04-02 Thread Screatch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Please add an ability to move tab bar like it's done in pidgin to either
bottom, left or right side.
I am having lots of tabs ussually and i like having my tab bar on a side.

This had been already discussed in askubuntu but appears that the only
solutions is recompile from sources which doesnt really satisfy me. -

This is really the only feature that keeps me from moving to Empathy.

Thanks in advance.

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

I am using 32 bit system, Ubuntu 10.10 Beta, running latest updates
experiencing problem with keyboard layout.
I am using 2 keyboard layout languages, Russian and English, and after a
while (A hour or two), keyboard layout becomes messed up, by messed up i mean
when i try to type for example on english Hello World, i get the mix of
characters like this - Руllщ Цorld, i managed to figure out that this happens
randomly for every letter, for example this is the output of holding the A key
for few seconds - фaфффaфффaффaaaaaaфaaфф. The problem is
that when this problem occurs, there is no way i can switch keyboard layout. I
tried removing them and adding them again, no luck. The only workaround is to
log out and log in again.

- I find this pretty annoying as this problem occurs with me several times
- a day.

[Bug 640824] [NEW] Keyboard layout messed up after a while

2010-09-16 Thread Screatch
Public bug reported:

I am using 32 bit system, Ubuntu 10.10 Beta, running latest updates
experiencing problem with keyboard layout.
I am using 2 keyboard layout languages, Russian and English, and after a while
(A hour or two), keyboard layout becomes messed up, by messed up i mean when i
try to type for example on english Hello World, i get the mix of characters
like this - Руllщ Цorld, i managed to figure out that this happens randomly
for every letter, for example this is the output of holding the A key for few
seconds - фaфффaфффaффaaaaaaфaaфф. The problem is that when
this problem occurs, there is no way i can switch keyboard layout. I tried
removing them and adding them again, no luck. The only workaround is to log out
and log in again.

I find this pretty annoying as this problem occurs with me several times
a day.

[Bug 636281] [NEW] Can't open external HD in Maverick beta 3

2010-09-12 Thread Screatch
Public bug reported:

In default installation of Ubuntu 10.10 Beta 3 i am experiencing some
problems opening my external hard drive, it's listed in places but
whenever i click on it, i receive error:

Unable to mount FreeAgent Drive

Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 17: Error opening '/dev/sdc1': No
such device or address
Failed to mount '/dev/sdc1': No such device or address
Either the device is missing or it's powered down, or you have
SoftRAID hardware and must use an activated, different device under
/dev/mapper/, (e.g. /dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1) to mount NTFS.
Please see the 'dmraid' documentation for help.

Possible workout for me is to reconnect hard drive. But once restarted,
problem appears again.

P.S. I didn't had this problem in Lucid so this is something Maverick
specific bug.

I agree, i use gmail webinterface and for IM notification, using Pidgin

Maybe submit a brainstorm idea?...

[Bug 546985] [NEW] Notification applet and sound applet are connected into one. [Lucid]

2010-03-25 Thread Screatch
Public bug reported:

Prerequisite:
You need Lucid Lynx Beta 1 installed.

How to reproduce it:
No need, by default installation, notification applet is included on the top
panel.

Description:
Since i installed Lucid Beta 1, i was a little bit dissapointed with inability
to remove mail icon from notification applet without touching the sound applet.

Sound applet and the notification applet is connected into one applet,
what is my opinion is wrong.

Maybe it's a feature, i am not sure..

Possible solution of the problem:
Separate the sound applet and the notification applet into the two different
applets.

For example there is no need for me of the notification applet on the
top panel

Please see screenshot for a better understanding of what do i mean.
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6140/mailr.png
The mail icon(highlighted on the screenshot) and the sound applet, should be
separated
