[Bug 205300] Re: kaffeine (probably other kde progs) crash after a short period with pulseaudio

2008-07-08 Thread Scub
I can verify the crash/freeze when changing DVB channel after a short
period when pulse audio is used. Kaffeine does this only when changing a
channel and the DVB stream has been playing for a while. Changing
channel on the beginning of the DVB streaming it works fine. I have
pulse audio enabled in Ubuntu 8.04 and pulse audio setting selected in
Kaffeine audio settings. The crash does not occur when alsa is used
instead of pulse audio. (Kaffeine version 0.86, KDE 3.5.9)

I cannot use pulse audio in Kaffeine for DVB playing because of this
bug. I suggest this is fixed as soon as possible because pulse audio is
enabled as default in Ubuntu 8.04.

Some debuggin data from console before the freeze:

Film mode enabled.
Film mode disabled.
kaffeine: WARNING: KXineWidget: Skipped frames: 17 - discarded frames: 0

[Bug 185311] Re: hardy, locking assertion failure, xorg/libsdl

2008-04-25 Thread Scub
Export the java path worked fine for matlab.
Just add export "MATLAB_JAVA=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre" (adjust the
version) at first line in /$MATLAB/bin/matlab

For maple11 it has to be done different:
sudo mv /opt/maple/jre.IBM_INTEL_LINUX/bin/java
/opt/maple/jre.IBM_INTEL_LINUX/bin/java.old
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/java /opt/maple/jre.IBM_INTEL_LINUX/bin/java
(for 32bit Ubuntu)

Now both programms work just fine without giving any errors when
started.

[Bug 185311] Re: hardy, locking assertion failure, xorg/libsdl

2008-04-25 Thread Scub
Neither "export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=1" nor "sed -i
's/XINERAMA/FAKEEXTN/g' ..." worked for me. I tried to fix many
libmawt.so files (in matlab, maple, jre(1.6.0.06)). Nothing worked out.

Although the programms work, the notices remain.

Trying export the matlab java path later. This could fixed the error
messages starting matlab.
