[Bug 1890803] Re: Groovy amd64 / arm64 / PowerPC deployment seems not working

2020-08-19 Thread Sean Feole
Kernel SRU is mid cycle now, someone else will have to verify this is
fixed, unfortunately the kernel team is using most of the MAAS servers
that would probably be used for verification. So many teams may have to
wait as we can't afford to have any more delays.

I would appear systemd-remount-fs is failing to complete from looking at
that inital logs, not sure if I can get more information out of the
system yet i will try.

[Bug 1890803] Re: Groovy amd64 / arm64 / PowerPC deployment seems not working

2020-08-17 Thread Sean Feole
I happened to check this updated -daily image again this morning which
includes, cloud-initramfs-tools 0.46ubuntu1 and still see that the
image remains broken.

I have attached the console logs from this latest deploy. Looks like we
made quite a bit of headway, still missing some bits that need to be
updated possibly for lack of /etc/fstab.

I have worked around the problem by creating a custom focal cloud image
and deploying it via maas using a bionic ephemeral. However, that is
simply a hack at this stage and not a valid fix.

Marking this as invalid, referenced bugs are all closed and pretty sure
this is not a problem on arm64 any longer.

I have not seen this occur on the -aws nitro backed arm64 instances.
Giving that mcdivitt is EOL, killing off this bug.

[Bug 1870939] Re: Micro tries to create log.txt on working directory every time it is opened

2020-07-17 Thread Sean Goheen
It's really irritating having to clean up after using micro, and not
being able to launch it from a directory that I don't have write access
to. I've tried to set debug to false in the config file, but that
doesn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

This appears to just be a nuisance now, rather than a reliable test as
it is consistently failing in clouds. Will take some time to break this
down and figure out if we can fix the test.

2020-07-13 Thread Sean Groarke
Concur. Previously in bionic 4.15.0-109 I would get this within 5 or 6
hours *max* (often much less) with 4.15.0-111 I'm at about 24 hours so
far and no sign. Looks good.

[Bug 1863021] Re: [SRU] eventlet monkey patch results in assert len(_active) == 1 AssertionError

2020-06-08 Thread sean mooney
im not sure that https://review.opendev.org/#/c/707474/ acttully works
or at the very least is a complete fix.

as noted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1882521/comments/1
we still see the same threading error.

i think we likely need to patch oslo_concurrency too or look into
another fix.

[Bug 1768844] Re: Numlock key turns on constantly, must push twice to turn off

2020-05-25 Thread Sean Davis
We included numlockx because this is normally a desired feature for
desktop usage. Unfortunately these sorts of settings are not well
handled in X11, and there's not a consistent way to turn the behavior on
or off. If the automatic numlock setting is bothering you, you can
uninstall the numlockx package on your system.

Meanwhile, we should document this so users can more easily find the
solution in the future. Adding xubuntu-docs as affected.

[Bug 1851387] Re: Show Xfce Terminal in the menu

2020-05-25 Thread Sean Davis
Along with this, I would propose hiding the existing "Xfce Terminal"
launcher in the menu, since it opens the settings dialog and not the
actual panel.

[Bug 1838008] Re: [snap] cursor theme isn't respected

2020-05-25 Thread Sean Davis
Fix committed in xubuntu-default-settings:
-
https://github.com/Xubuntu/xubuntu-default-settings/commit/7ea4e59df2394140b28cf92b2651d327a800f00f
-
https://github.com/Xubuntu/xubuntu-default-settings/commit/f2ee8c4526862248edba19dc8a1aca9dfa10059b

Basically, we were referencing a theme that no longer exists, "Human",
so the theme was falling back on Default. There is no default theme in
gtk-common-themes, so the fallback X11 theme was used instead.

[Bug 1872064] Re: engrampa toolbar icons not the same as thunar's

2020-05-24 Thread Sean Davis
This is because Thunar uses symbolic navigation icons while engrampa
uses standard icons.

I wonder if it's possible to request symbolic icons in engrampa in a
similar way to https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=12350
