[Bug 174809] Re: Nautilus using more and more memory (depending on the system up-time)
Natty is a bug collector, used 72% of my memory - idle status (2Gb in amd64 system) - all visible processes were at 21 Mb memory consuming postion (max), several kernel panic screens, hardware is OK. Went back to xubuntu 10.10 - Thunar works without any problem of nautilus. It is interesting that ristretto has the same memory leak issue as nautilus here in this thread, but it is easy to replace it. I will wait white Natty will be matured anough to have no obvious bugs ... PCManFM 0.9.7 definitely solves the problem with nautilus, but it is pretty old and inconvenient - Thunar is much better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174809 Title: Nautilus using more and more memory (depending on the system up-time) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 734433] Re: Unity eating RAM and CPU and lagging
I believe this bug has nothing to do with Unity, supposedly it is a kernel bug due to the following: 1. I use XFCE 4.8, and have exactly the same bug. With the same XFCE 4.8 and older kernel 2.6.35.25 I had 17% memory usage (out of 1.7 Gb total memory) - no active user programs running, now I have 72%!!! with 2.6.38.8 kernel. It is interesting that system monitor doesn't show any program consuming more than 21 mb or RAM. 2. I have ATI video chip HD4200 on the motherboard. 3. My hardware is OK - I have memtest running on it during 24 hours+, 55 passes without any error. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/734433 Title: Unity eating RAM and CPU and lagging -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
