Public bug reported:

this happen not every run;

/usr/share/software-center/softwarecenter/region.py
line 
countrycode = loc.split("_")[1]
may be it expects something like "us_US" and fails with "C"
I suggest it be inside try-block;

on lucid #89 fails during ./configure with:

checking for XORG... configure: error: Package requirements (xorg-server >= 
1.1.0 xproto fontsproto ) were not met:
No package 'xorg-server' found
No package 'fontsproto' found
