It's too bad this wasn't done in time for Quantal. Perhaps it could be considered for 13.04? [Bug 950352] Re: Online Accounts UI Missing
This bug affects me too. Fortunately I also have the Gnome Shell session installed, so by logging out of Unity and into Gnome Shell I can get access to the Online Accounts GUI there.
