[Bug 1878601] Re: Merge nfs-utils from Debian experimental for 22.04 - version in Ubuntu is *very* old

2022-02-04 Thread Siddhartha Bedi
Thank you for your efforts on this. This is an important upgrade for me.
I require the nfs re-export features of knfsd and nsf-utils needs to be
> 1.3.5; it has been frozen on 1.3.4. This allows me to use re-exporting
with cachefilesd to provide cloud / wan acceleration for on premise file
shares.

I was able to utilize your code to backport this to Ubuntu 20.04 to
successfully get these features to work.

[Bug 583797]

2019-01-02 Thread Siddhartha Sahu
Hi.

Does the fix not consider pinned tabs? I use multiple windows with many
pinned tabs of websites I regularly use (mail, etc). Ctrl+Q only warns
before quitting if there are at least 2 *unpinned* open tabs. Should it
not consider pinned tabs in the count as well?

I'm using FF Developer edition 65.0b4 on Linux.

Thanks.

[Bug 381416] Re: notify-osd should have a close button

2014-05-07 Thread Siddhartha Narayan Pal
I think there should be a close button on each notification card. also
it will be better if there exists some notification settings through
which user can enable or disable notification card and customize the
display time. unread notifications should be stored in notification
center.

[Bug 550577] [NEW] gnome-do freezes when computer resumes from an automatic screen-lock.

2010-03-28 Thread Siddhartha
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-do

Gnome-do freezes shortly after the computer is unlocked following an
automatic lock due to inactivity immediately after login.

Steps to reproduce:
Login to gnome
Leave computer unattended till it automatically screen-locks
Enter your password to unlock the computer.
Gnome do freezes immediately after or a couple of minutes after you resume
using your computer.

Expected Result: Normally responds to hot key (super+space), auto-hide.
Result Obtained: Not responsive to hot key(super+space) or clicking, does not
auto-hide.

Running Ubuntu 9.10 with updates from lucid repositories.
gnome-do:
  Installed: 0.8.3.1+dfsg-1
  Candidate: 0.8.3.1+dfsg-1

Note: Gnome-do generally crashes a lot, I was previously unable to pin
point any specific cause. I was able to reproduce it once but not unble
to obtain consistent results.

[Bug 437331] Re: linux-image-virtual kernel contains -generic-pae kernel

2010-03-27 Thread Siddhartha
I got a similar error when I upgraded karmic to lucid by running update-
manager -d. For some reason I was prompted to install linux-virtual and
linux-image-virtual.

This set grub to boot into a generic pae kernel which did not contain
some module required to boot my asus eeepc 1000he netbook correctly (no
wifi, low graphics mode etc.)

Booting with an earlier kernel and uninstalling linux-image-virtual and
linux-virtual fixed the issue.

I am guessing this is an intermittent issue and not really a bug. Its
strange that the updater wanted to install the linux-virtual package.
Any feedback is much appreciated.

[Bug 412642] Re: Tasque errors "Bad key or directory name:"

2009-11-18 Thread Siddhartha
Work-around:

Launch Tasque after logging in to the remember the milk service in your
browser.

Right-click on the icon in the system tray > preferences

Select the remember the milk tab. > click connect.

The remember the milk will prompt you to authorize tasque to access your
tasks > click authorize.

Return to the Tasque preferences dialog > click after authorization

Tasque should now be able to sync with the remember the milk service.

[Bug 378643] Re: (Jaunty PPC) Xorg crashes at boot time -> bulletproof mode

2009-06-15 Thread Siddhartha Valmont
** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv

I had a fully functional Ubuntu 8.04.1 installation on my PowerMac G5 4x2,5
GHz with a Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 (driver nv).
I upgraded to the 8.10 and 9.04 version with the update manager. When the
computer rebooted after the upgrade, I ended with Xorg in bulletproof mode (cf.
the Xorg.0.nv-driver.log). The Xorg log showed an error message about "No valid
MMIO address in PCI config space" and screen not found (same DVI monitor than
in 8.10).
I tried the nouveau driver in case of luck, but unfortunately I had another
error.

I made a final try by using the alternate 9.04 cd to format an re-
install in case of an error whole upgrading. But the error stays.

I have tried to hardcode the driver and force to ignore the EDID but the
error stay the same : Bulletproof mode with funky colors hardly
readable. I used the option login in console mode and try to fix the
conf. I am now posting this bug from the command line (lynx is the best
  friend of unlucky admins ^.^).

  success, I now to fill-in a bug.

[Bug 378643] Re: (Jaunty PPC) Xorg crashes at boot time -> bulletproof mode

2009-06-15 Thread Siddhartha Valmont
After further testing I reinstalled the following version that worked
successfully :

Debian Lenny 5.01
kernel2.6.26-2-powerpc64
xserver-xorg1:7.3+18
xserver-xorg-video-nv1:2.1.10-1

Ubuntu 8.04.1
kernel2.6.24-19 and 2.6.24-24
xserver-xorg1:7.3+10ubuntu10
xserver-xorg-video-nv1:2.1.8-1ubuntu1

Note : I installed Ubuntu 8.04.1 front the PPC desktop live CD and
everything worked out of the box.

In fact, the bug reported started to appear when I upgraded my
installation to 8.10 (and was still here on 9.04).

(I'll update the bug report...).

[Bug 219054] Re: Evolution doesn't send mail with attachments via GMail SMTP

2008-05-10 Thread Siddhartha Koirala
its definately evolution issue! there is a problem with it and gmail. it
worked fine in gutsy for me but in hardy i also have the same problem. I
have tried all kinds of different gmail settings for evolution but non
of them work for me! i.e. changing the ports . ssl tls. it does get the
mail but it doesn't send it. even smaller ones than 150 KB (i'm sure
everyone want it to work to it's max file output 10MB i think??). And by
the way all this is ment to be simple and easy.
