[Bug 156643] Re: Internal and external links diplay and print problem
Adding the pdfborderstyle={/S/U/W 0} to the hyperref package when producing a pdf suppresses all visual clues as to the existence of hyperlinks in the document. A strange idea to me : you create a pdf with hyperlinks yet there is nothing that tells the user that some part of the text is a link until, by chance, his cursor changes when passing over the link. Anyway, let's not confuse the method of creation of the pdf with the display and print of the document. Evince and kpdf do the latter and usually the user (I mean the person reading the doc) has no control on how it was produced. When Michael above says that these boxes were probably present in the documents in the past, he is right. For as long as I've used latex, I have made documents with those red boxes around links. And for years now I was able to see them in kpdf, xpdf and acroread (I don't use evince much to remember how it was then) when displaying the document but somehow they were ignored when printing. Now with latest versions of evince and kpdf (but not xpdf nor acroread), those red boxes are also printed and that is both ugly and useless. Thank you Michael for your suggestion but I really want the best of both worlds : pdf with hyperlinks clearly visible on screen but invisible on paper. That's what we had in the past. Now why has this changed ? Is this a bug or a feature ? When someone creates a pdf and puts those red boxes around links, does he intend to have them on screen only or on paper as well ? What shoud the reader do ? I for one wish this behaviour could be set as an option in the reader. If it can't, I'd rather go back to the former behaviour. -- Internal and external links diplay and print problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156643 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 148334] Re: kpdf prints links with red borders
I would like to insist on the fact that those red borders appear on documents that have been created with that purpose (for instance when the user creates the pdf using latex and the hyperref package). The creator of the pdf wanted red borders around links to identify them as such and so kpdf display them on screen as expected. It is by the way possible to create pdfs with hyperlinks that are not visually identified as such in the document (why would anyone do that is another question). The real question here is : what should the reader do when the pdf to display contains those red borders ? Display them on screen ? Obviously : that's what they were made for. Also print them ? That is the question. Xpdf and acroread do not print those borders, kpdf didn't in the past but now does. Was this behaviour changed willingly (is it a feature then) or is it a bug ? If a bug, I think it should be corrected. If a feature, I think it should be possible to have an option in kpdf that let the user decides if he wants the borders printed or not. -- kpdf prints links with red borders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdegraphics in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

According to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=145907 the bug has been fixed. Still I do have the bug with kpdf 0.5.8 provided by Ubuntu. [Bug 156643] Re: Internal and external links diplay and print problem
I have the same problem with latex created pdf files... except I do not use evince but kpdf ! As for others above, xpdf and acroread print fine. Since this problem arises only when using evince and kpdf, maybe it is due to something they have in common. Could it be related to poppler ? [Bug 134276] Re: OpenOffice calc crashes opening this ods file if openoffice.org-base not installed
That's it. No problem anymore. Thanks very much for your help. PS (just in case it might help) I never installed anything openoffice.org related in the past (I've been using Kubuntu since Dapper and Debian before) but always used nothing more that what was installed by default. That means that something that I used to create my file was present in the default install in the past and isn't anymore. Unfortunately, I cannot say for sure what version of Kubuntu I had when the file was created but I think it was Dapper. I never installed Edgy so I cannot say if the problem exists with that version but it appeared for me in Feisty. -- OpenOffice calc crashes opening this ods file if openoffice.org-base not installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134276 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 148334] kpdf prints links with red borders
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdegraphics When I print a pdf file that includes hyperlinks, these links are printed in a red rectangle by kpdf. I realize that those red borders are there to indicate that it is a link but what's the point of that on a printed page ? If I am to be told that this is not a bug but a feature, may I just say that it didn't show this behaviour in the past and that at least there should be an option to disable it. (There is an option to display those borders or not on screen but I didn't find any to disable them on paper). The pdf I have is created by latex - dvips - ps2pdf and the latex file uses the hyperref package with option dvips. I consider this is a bug in kpdf (and not latex or whatever) because it didn't happen in previous versions of kpdf and it doesn't happen with xpdf. My version of kpdf : 4:3.5.7-1ubuntu6 (gutsy). ** Affects: kdegraphics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kpdf prints links with red borders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148334 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdegraphics in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

I installed Gutsy and the openoffice.org package I have is 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu2 Is it newer or older than 1:2.3.0~rc1-1ubuntu2 because with the package I have I still can't open document 'totaux_examens.ods' posted above. [Bug 134276] Re: OOO crashes opening this doc file
Hi, I have a similar problem with an ods file and oocalc. This file that I attach was created using the openoffice package in Kubuntu Dapper and didn't have any problem. Since I installed Feisty on the same machine (fresh installed, not an upgrade) I can't open my file anymore. I contacted the french OpenOffice.org users list and the people responding were able to open my file but none of them were using the OpenOffice.org package provided by Feisty. When browsing the launchpad to see if there was anything related, this bug report was the closest. So I downloaded the file from the link in the first message and I was unable to open it. I get into an endless loop of crashes and recovery attempts without success. Just like with this attached ods file. I am using the standard OpenOffice.org provided by Kubuntu 7.04, msttcorefonts is installed but not ubuntu-restricted-extras. I insist on the fact that this does not happen with every file, I actually only witnessed it on this very one. I can't see anything special in it though. ** Attachment added: totaux_examens.ods http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9133585/totaux_examens.ods -- OOO crashes opening this doc file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134276 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 60283] Krita absent from open with list for images
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: krita-data Hi, krita remains absent from the open with list obtained by a right click on image files (like .jpg) even though Krita is present in the file associations for that type of file. As pointed out to me on the French forum, this is due to the fact that the /usr/share/applnk/Office/krita_jpeg.desktop file contains the line NoDisplay=true. Simply removing this line solves the problem. Since I can't figure out why it should be that way, I decided to report this as a minor bug. Note that koffice is not installed here. krita-data package version : 1:1.5.0-0ubuntu9 krita version : 1.5.0 kde version : 3.5.2 Kubuntu 6.06 Thanks for your packaging work anyway. ** Affects: koffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Krita absent from open with list for images https://launchpad.net/bugs/60283 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 54154] kpdf ignores duplex printing settings and forces duplex
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kpdf Kpdf version 0.5.2 - KDE version 3.5.2 Kubuntu version Dapper kpdf package version 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu6 installed via apt-get using standard kubuntu repositories When I print a document from kpdf, the kprinter dialog appears and I check that duplex printing is set to off (which is by the way the default for my printer). Regardless of that setting, the document is printed with duplex on (long side). First I thought it was a bug with kdeprint or kprinter but since it only happens with kpdf (not with acroread or xpdf, even when those apps use kprinter) I'm pretty confident it is a kpdf bug. In case it helps, my printer is a HP 6122 with duplex support using the recommended hpijs driver ( HP DeskJet 6122 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended) - HPLIP 0.9.7). This happens with every pdf file I print regardless of its origin (creation method) and its number of pages (even single page documents are printed with duplex : the second side remains empty but passes through the printer. This does not happen with document printed by other apps, even kde ones like a web page printed by konqueror or a pdf printed by kghostview. As far as I am concerned, this bug makes kpdf unusable ! PS I found out that the kpdf provided by kubuntu is not the real kpdf ssued by kde but a patched one to use poppler instead of xpdf. Is this correct ? If it is, is this information provided anywhere by kubuntu ? I think it should be clearly stated as such ** Affects: kdegraphics (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- kpdf ignores duplex printing settings and forces duplex https://launchpad.net/bugs/54154 -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 42965] Re: Can't add a printer in KDE: parser error?
Hi, After I did the sudo foomatic-cleanupdrivers trick, the problem got worse since now there are no driver available anymore. When I use kdeprint in administrator mode to add a printer, my printer HP Deskjet 6122 is recognised on the usb port but no make nor driver can be chosen next : the lists are completely empty (I can provide a screenshot if this is not clear). (Of course I can still click the Other button to browse the ppd files). This seems to be kde related only : using the cupsys web interface, the list of drivers is displayed. -- Can't add a printer in KDE: parser error? https://launchpad.net/bugs/42965 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
