removing wireless-tools did not solve the problem for me. note: removing the package did not actually remove /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/wireless- tools I had to remove it by hand. I don't know why this should be (I don't understand the inner workings of the deb format particularly well. Steps to reproduce- Install a package which requires python-setuptools (In my case, this was the current release of Deluge), where the system does not have this package installed.
