[Bug 685221] Re: [Realtek ALC268] ALSA test tone not correctly played back
I can report still no changes, despite the daily builds. It's very annoying not to be able to listen to things in headphones. [Bug 685221] Re: [Realtek ALC268] ALSA test tone not correctly played back
Thank you Daniel for the tip. I added the daily build repository and installed. I have rebooted a couple of times but the problem remains. Today I generated a 1000 hz sinus tone and made a testfile. It plays the tone in the left channel for a few seconds, then the right and then both. When testing it I found that the speakers are working properly but when trying it in the headphones it is played normal in the left earphone (but a bit weaker even though the slider for headphones in the GNOME alsa mixer is at 100%) and extremely weak, almost silent, in the right earphone (alsa mixer is balanced between channels). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685221 Title: [Realtek ALC268] ALSA test tone not correctly played back -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 685221] [NEW] [Realtek ALC268] ALSA test tone not correctly played back
Public bug reported: With headphones plugged in in my Acer Extenza 5630EZ, sound has normal strength in left headphone and extremely weak in the right one. The balance is correct when using internal speakers or an external USB Mackie sound card. The headphones are _not_ broken. There are a lot of simular reports on other RealTek soundcard so this could be a duplicate, but I couldn't find my ALC268 among the other bugreports. I suppose my are related to the others.
