Bug has partially been resolved in LO 4.0.0.3. Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89) Ubuntu 13.04 Raring 64 Bit. Open Dialogue Window does not overlap any more when checkbox is checked in CompizConfigSettings manager for maximised windows under the Window Rules Option. The WIndow is fully maximised with Unity Integration in LibreOffice, and it remembers its maximised state in the application. The problem is that this only occurs when it is checked using CompizConfigSettings Manager, can this now be constructed as being the default process for Open and Save Dialogue windows that are maximised in Ubuntu? Without having to check the maximised windows option in CompizConfigSettings Manager, so that they may have full unity integration on the display monitor. I would also like to escalate this query to other programs within Ubuntu, as it has the same maximise issue for open and save dialogue windows in programs such as Rhythmbox, and Evince Document Viewer. It is a common bug on Ubuntu Systems with Unity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1097089 Title: debconf gtk+ dialog boxes do not remember window sizes on ubuntu. [Bug 1097089] [NEW] debconf gtk+ dialog boxes ubuntu do not remember display resolution
Public bug reported: Gtk window placement not remembering size when it is an open or save dialog window. Problem: 1. Open the open dialog on libreoffice. 2. Window overlaps off screen. Does not fit on screen. 3. Click the maximise button and the window adjusts as a maximised window that fits on the screen. 4. Close window. 5. Open window again. 6. Same problem overlaps on screen does not remember that it was in a maximised state when I closed it from last time. 7. Have to click maximise again! What it needs to do: 1. The 2nd window should remember where it was in a maximised state (not overlap when i open it again) as I had left it when I had closed the 1st window. 2. Window open and save dialog s should remember there state no matter how they are adjusted. I have filed a gtk bug. My response so far is that it is a Ubuntu problem and maybe a unity problem. What I think is happening: The open and save dialog window knows that it needs to be at a resolution as it was before... And that is what it is directly doing. But, What the window needs to do though is to be told when it is opened to go to that size and resolution but to also go back into maximise mode as I had left it before. Links: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...iz/+bug/760645 launchpad bug: Bug filed with gtk developer: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=685347 Screenshots in both links of what is going wrong. I have had this problem with many versions of ubuntu since 10.04.. Earlier. It would be great if it could be fixed... still happens in quantal 12.10. It is quite annoying when the dialog doesn't remember its position or fits on the screen?? this happens on any open or save window in ubuntu on any program. Including Firefox... Chromium... Libreoffice... Archive manager Nautilus And many many many others. more links are attached from existing bug reports... if this bug needs to be cleaned up for more information I am happy to provide a clearer outline. This bug is annoying. It doesn't just occur for netbook users it occurs for people with low resolution displays as well. It would be great if it were fixed. Still occurs in quantal 12.10 beta 2. 1680x1050 It occurs not only in libreoffice. But I think it happens on all open and save dialogs that occur for programs in ubuntu. Is there a way where the window decoration remembers to just auto maximise. But I found another work around also. In office 2011 for Mac of you select all of your slides by clicking on a slide and then using the keyboard shortcut (command a)that will select all the slides. If you click layout under the home button ribbon. And select blank. It changes the master slide layouts. That is what worked for me. Then you can open it as a pptx file in impress. Something isn't working to well with layouts in Libreoffice I suspect. [Bug 734726] Re: [Upstream] master text styles show up on actual slides
work around... deleted the bug and problem by deleting everything in master view in microsoft 2011 on mac.. I think the problem is when someone opens a presentation as ppt file say for microsoft 2003, and then they save it as microsoft 2010 format .pptx it then gets all jumbled up with libreoffice there should be an option (one button click) to delete all styles and charts and graphics and tittle and footer boxes in master view on libreoffice as well.. (delete the whole master slide!) so its a blank power point canvas in master view. just by deleting all the slides and ending up with the last one as a blank white canvas. ( I don't think you can do that in libreoffice for ALL the slides like you can in microsoft office. (even microsoft office can't do that very well what I just described :) bash321 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/734726 Title: [Upstream] master text styles show up on actual slides To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/734726/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 734726] Re: [Upstream] master text styles show up on actual slides
i'm not the only person who has decided that this was a problem from a class mates presentation... Can LibreOffice please fix this bug! It's really important I have received power point slides for Ancient History from my teacher and they are 40mb! plus!!! i can't convert all of the pptx files as it takes to long with online converters and saving them in microsoft office 2010 on windows as odp is a complete disaster... I am using an unstable development version of libreoffice 3.6 LOdev 3.6.0alpha0+ e9d045f-f8506ca-8a74106-f0d66f on a mac and I even have libreoffice 3.5 on ubuntu. I am also going to report this bug to libreoffice mailing list... it is really important that it gets fixed because everything else in the pptx file works really except this annoying bug these powerpoints have more than 40 slides! can some help ressolve this issue instead of deleting the text one by one on all the slides... i tried saving these on mac office 2011, as a ppt file and it just crashed!!!1? If a fix is released in a daily version unstable release of libreoffice on one of the mirrors even if its windows mac or linux.. i can access that version and save those slides as an odp so that it works really well with libreoffice 3.5.. on my ubuntu desktop as an odp file!!! bash321 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/734726 Title: [Upstream] master text styles show up on actual slides To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/734726/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
