[Bug 542208] Re: Please blacklist i830 from Kernel mode-setting

2010-05-02 Thread Stan Behrens
Hallo everyone,

I am not able to use my Sony Vaio VGN-B1VP without adding i915.modeset=1
to the Kernel Commandline. If I am going to try to boot it without that
setting the Laptop freezes as soon as the X-Server comes up. It is
impossible the switch to VT, use the SysRQ-Keys (e.g. Alt-Print-R for
Reboot) or login remotely via OpenSSH.

Here is the interesting part of lspci -vvnn:

[Bug 189260] Re: Backlight doesn't turn on after resume

2009-03-22 Thread Stan Behrens
Hi,

on my Sony VAIO VGN-B1VP this is still an issue. Switching to VT does
not help, the backlight stays off.

[Bug 338908] Re: Menuitem 'View -> Toolbars -> Customize' does not pop up the 'Toolbar Customize'-Dialog

2009-03-07 Thread Stan Behrens
@Alexander:
I've no extensions, themes or languages installed. It's a clean
thunderbird-installation via aptitude.

@John:
A menu appears with only one grayed out item: 'Customize...'

@All:
I found out, that once I had choosen the customize-mode and then I close
thunderbird, it still runs in background:
$ ps fax | grep thunderbird
 7300 pts/0S+ 0:00  \_ grep --color=auto thunderbird
 7170 ?S  0:00 gksu -S -u mail thunderbird
 7171 ?Ss 0:00  \_ /bin/sh /usr/bin/thunderbird
 7183 ?S  0:00  \_ /bin/sh /usr/lib/thunderbird/run-mozilla.sh
/usr/lib/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin
 7187 ?Sl 0:04  \_ /usr/lib/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin
(Starting thunderbird without gksu does not make any change [to prevent you
from asking me :)])

So thunderbird realy assumes that one window is still open...

[Bug 338908] [NEW] Menuitem 'View -> Toolbars -> Customize' does not pop up the 'Toolbar Customize'-Dialog

2009-03-06 Thread Stan Behrens
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

Hi,

Thunderbird does not show the 'Toolbar Customize'-Dialog when you choose
the menuitem 'View -> Toolbars -> Customize ...'. Without this dialog
you are not able to add/remove icons, modify sizes, control Icon-Text
and finaly you are not able to leave the 'Customization Mode', so you
need to Close Thunderbird via the Window Manager.

Firefox on the same machine, does show the correct dialog and works as
expected.

Bye.
