[Bug 1297849] Re: VPN Connection fails after last upgrade on 14.04

2014-07-06 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
I confirm that the problem is solved renaming .gconf directory (from
terminal mv .gconf gconf-backup), and doing logout and login.

@jrios: there is no need to create another admin user, as your user
itself can move / delete its .gconf directory.

Would be good to find why this was needed... as I think that this
operation could lose some other configs..

2014-04-20 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
It's an annoying bug, as pasting text is a common activity inside web
apps, and usually the copied text came from other programs.

In my case, I was trying to copy and paste a link from Firefox to GMail
web app, inside a new email.

For this bug, I cannot use web app for GMail...

[Bug 1108637] Re: backspace key no longer works in nautilus

2013-07-12 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
Just my comment: the bad thing abot having ALT+LEFT instead of
BACKSPACE, is that for pressing ALT+LEFT you need to use two hands.
Instead with BACKSPACE I pressed it with only left hand, making right
hand free to use mouse.

I know that I can customize hotkey association, but I think that hotkey
customization is very few applied now respect of years ago.

[Bug 1042259] [NEW] Cannot create archive in Desktop with --add parameter

2012-08-27 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
Public bug reported:

S.O.: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Package installer: 3.4.1-0ubuntu1

I'm using this command in order to create an archive, with the window
that ask the archive position:

file-roller --add /home/sbagnatica/Documenti/Test/File1.odt

(this is the same command issued by the integrated Nautilus extension)

If I don't have any subfolder in Desktop, I can select the Desktop and
it works right.

Instead, if I have a subfolder in Desktop, that subfolder will be always
be selected instead of the main Desktop folder.

See these screenshot...

[Bug 463517] Re: flashplugin-installer hangs at random states while downloading adobe-flashplugin.

I had a similar problem on upgrading to 12.04 beta2. The upgrade process
was blocked on "flashplugin-installer: downloading...", but in my case
the download seems that was not started (also if network was available).

CTRL+C was not working. I had to reboot the machine, and then finish
upgrade with "sudo dpkg --configure -a" (not really a good thing!).

[Bug 787684] Re: Evolution can't open some local address books

2011-08-25 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
If can help, I have this problem and this is my GCONF configuration in
/apps/evolution/addressbook, name = sources, 3° value:

The address book "Personale", that have "system" relative_uri, works
correcty, and I get "Invalid source" opening address book "AbleTech",
with relative_uri 1295625049.3850.8@cvs28.

I see that the "uri" is wrong, because now the addressbook is in
.local/share/evolution/addressbook, but I have also tried correcting
this URI in GCONF, but the error stays there. I tried opening the
addressbook.db.summary files, and they seems ok.

I cannot also delete that address book... I think I'll delele the not
working book from GCONF, and recreate manually.

[Bug 746343] Re: rdesktop window gets a -?- icon in natty launcher

2011-08-25 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
I confirm that moving .desktop file to /usr/share/applications resolved
the problem, also with a custom rdesktop launcher with parameters.

[Bug 771172] Re: BAMF doesn't consider desktop files in ~/.local/share/applications

2011-08-25 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
You should see this other bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/746343?comments=all

That should be a clear example of this issue (and so related to BAMF).

[Bug 724051] Re: upgrade to 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu4 breaks touchpad

2011-05-28 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
I reinstalled Ubuntu 11.04 from scratch, and the touchpad now works
correctly. So I think it was some parameter not correctly migrated from
10.10 to 11.04

[Bug 738732] Re: Name already exisits on your network in "Your computer's name" in "Who are you" page even when this is random text

2011-04-06 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
Same thing here installing Natty beta 1 (destkop 32 bit) on a VirtualBox
virtual machine.

The name I typed not really existed on the network (I had only one PC
connected).

When going to password textbox and typing, the message disappeared and I
was able to go ahead.

[Bug 662596] Re: Unable to add directories

2011-01-09 Thread Stefano Bagnatica
For me worked editing the file /home/username/.config/gmameui, adding
there lines (for titles ans snaps):

dir-title=/usr/local/share/games/mame/titles
dir-snapshot=/usr/local/share/games/mame/snaps

You DO NOT have to put the final ";"

Don't launch Evolution with "disable-eplugin", instead apply the
workaround proposed in comment #13.
