Public bug reported: Creating a NetCDF file with more than 65535 rows and columns apparently fails: although the attached program completes without errors, the resulting file is not a correct NetCDF file. On one hand, it is too small. On the other hand, calling "ncdump -h demo.nc" reports "NetCDF: Unknown file format".
The program works in OpenSUSE Leap 15.1 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: netcdf-bin 1:4.6.0-2build1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-66.75-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-66-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.7 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Oct 24 13:30:19 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-02-16 (614 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170801) SourcePackage: netcdf UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to bionic on 2018-05-14 (527 days ago) ** Affects: netcdf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic ** Attachment added: "Example program" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849646/+attachment/5299669/+files/bug_netcdf2.c -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1849646 Title: NetCDF fails to create correct data file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netcdf/+bug/1849646/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
